That to be born again, is to have ones sins atoned for by His redeeming blood & to confess Jesus Christ ones Lord & believe in ones heart He raised from the dead?
That once you are born spiritually whole: body, soul & spirit; then you are a Christian & always will be a Christian?

tbone. I don't agree there is scripture that means that water baptisms causes one to be born again. Water baptism is going down. Babtized in Jesus death on the cross, His blood washing away our sins, And we are raised up born again (new spiritual person in Christ Jesus). But the act of water baptism doesn't make this happen. An honest confession & faith in ones heart does.

Ceing born of water is being born of the womb. Being born from above is being born spiritual. The spiritual birth is what makes someone born again.

maguyver. It is our mind that needs to be renewed. I know our soul is associated to our mental decisions. But my Pastor preaced that when we are born of God our new spirit man blends with our soul. That we make the soul choice to resist the old man lusts & choose to follow after the Spirit.

Why would anyone who is a child of God, deny Christ & the cross? It is impossible for a true born again (born from above) Christian to come against Christ to the point of counting worthless the finished work on the cross. Telling God they don't want to be Gods child anymore. Jesus would just spank them before they got to that point.

FatherK, I have a problem with your writing style. Baptism is symbolic & also an act of faith. It isn't just symbolic & it may not even be an act of faith if the person doesn't believe & has a baptism.
Personally, I asked Jesus into my heart in song services as a child. Since I had faith, I believe I was born from above at that time. But I didn't have the water baptism yet.
Some people get born again during the act & confession of faith & during the water baptism. Some people get born again the moment they confess with their mouth & believe honestly from their heart.
I am sure countless have been saved during the act of water baptism. But the water baptism doesn't save us. It is the confession & honest faith from ones heart.

mollywar, One is in Jesus when one abides in Christ. And one can't abide in Christ until one is born from above. Spiritual birth is a creative miracle & happens in a moment of birth. Then this happens sometimes out in the field when one is by themself or doesn't have a bible to read & study the word of God. Jesus can save even the person on an isolated island with no Word of God. Just look up to the angelic messenger who points to Christ.

it will not be taken away but you could turn your back on Christ. You will always have free will and you are not an object, but a soul.......therefore your condition could change. I always ask God to finish the Good work he started in me. That's one scripture I pray alot!

You sound like a good person, not someone who has the "devil in you". But you'll both grow up, and this will seem very silly to you then. The main reason people act like that, is the belief that they're way to god is the only one, and that you'll be doomed to some awfull place if you don't join up with the "one true church". Perhaps you've heard similar claims in the RC church. When you believe in this stuff it seems very serious, and people can get real uptight. You could try telling her that if she doesn't chill you'll join the satanists.

Only by being born again IN THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY BAPTISM.
It's NOTHING that we can do - including "asking" - that is the entire point of Eph. 2:8-9!!
It's by washing and regeneration....
And yes...from that point on, you are always a Christian....ontologically different and marked by God for all time.
The Sacrament of Holy Baptism conveys "indelible character". The Church has ALWAYS taught that from the beginning.
John 3:3,5 - unless we are "born again" of water and Spirit in baptism, we cannot enter into the kingdom of God. The Greek word for the phrase "born again" is "anothen" which literally means “begotten from above.” See, for example, John 3:31 where "anothen" is so used. Baptism brings about salvation, not just a symbolism of our salvation.

Yes. However, for me it is more a remembering what I am. I am the image and likeness of God. Holy Spirit moves through me. I am spirit in action on this planet. My body is the holy temple of this and my vehicle in this 3D form. My spirit person resides in this earthly form and so I call Jesus Christ, the Anointed One, the Perfect Only Begotten of God, the Perfect Idea held in the Mind of God, to live in and as and through me here and now eternally.
And what is done can not be undone.
I do have free will to focus my God-energy where I will and so the consequences of my choices of focus are mine to bear.

I am restricting my answer to your question "Is the only way to become a Christian...............to be born again? To become a Christian/Hindu/Muslim etc. there are relevant religious Edicts. To become Christian, a person should learn and practice what JESUS CHRIST taught for the mankind in the practical life and activities, and Baptisom with water and other requirements etc. are religious edicts When you are in Jesus, then you are spiritually born as a Christian. For this, I think you need a thorough and repeated readings about the teachings of Jesus Christ, - 'THE HOLY BIBLE', the Gift given to the mankind. My final words to your question - Through Him, With Him, In Him.

You are correct about the way to become a Christian, you must be born again. You need to be faithful to remain a Christian and no one can take that from you but you can give it up. Eternal security is false doctrine and man-made, but I'm quite sure that you will have many tell you that once you're saved you're always saved and they will take scriptures out of context to support their false doctrine. May God Bless you in your search for truth.

To become a Christian, one has to, of his/her own free will, enter into (accept) the covenant of the New Testament for the forgiveness of sin and salvation of the eternal soul thru Jesus, Son of the one true God, with a sincere and repentant heart.
I don't believe that once a person knows the love and mercy of the one true God that they can then reject/deny Him. So, yes, I believe "once a Christian...always a Christian".
However, I *DO* believe that there are people who THINK that they "were Christian" (ie, "raised as", or "born as", or "attended [xyx] church") who later on became something else. I do NOT believe that these people were ever Christian to begin with.
Just my thoughts.

It cannot be TAKEN away but it can be given up by choice. Those who know the truth (are reborn in Christ) and turn away, cannot get it back again. In giving it up an turning back to unbelief, they deny the sacrifice Christ made on the cross and that is unforgivable.

Yes, the only way to become a Christian is to confess your sins to Jesus and ask Him to come into your heart. You have to believe that He died on the cross for you and that you cannot get to heaven on your own. The only way to get there is by asking Jesus into your heart and asking for forgiveness. Once you accept Jesus into your heart you are saved!! Nothing can take that away from you!!! Nothing!! so you don't have to worry!! Your are safe in the hands of the all powerful and Almighty God once you become a Christian!!

I cannot speak to the first part of your question but can, out of my experience of Truth, speak to the second part of your question.
Once you have come into the awareness of Who You Are you cannot know yourself as anything else. That is, once you realize your connection with God and your own immortality, nothing can extinguish that. You are free from darkness and deception from that point on. Enjoy eternity. Laughter and love be yours!

All religions depend on faith. If you have faith in one, you have to agree to everything what it says if not then be a free born instead of born again.
