Depends on which denomination you choose to be....I'm a "christian" and don't go to church but I'm a lutheran from birth and was baptized as such. I would do a google search for you but I'm not relaly up to it right now. That's where I would start with you.....try Google and maybe you'll get some answers there....also it depends on what you want to get out of going to church. You don't have to go to church to pray or believe....it's what's in your heart that counts. Hope this helped a little bit.

Well if you are secular and you went to a city-council meeting you know in your gut whether you feel intellectually gratified because it met your concerns.

When you are a spiritual being you will go to a church that you feel like all of your needs and questions are met. And most importantly you feel a spirit of peace and joy and content. You feel at home in the church and not as an outsider. That is the church you want to attend.

But the most important thing in church is to grow and become a mature believer in the faith. That comes with the fellowship you have with others and the insights you gain from them and your own personal experiences you live through in life..

You shouldn't pick any church until you've become a christian by repenting of your sin and accepting Christ as your savior and Lord.

Then, you want to find a church that teaches, believes, and obeys the teachings of the Bible. Christians are not to be hearers of the Word only, but doers also.

that is too personal a question for anyone to answer for you. It depends on your background, what you are looking for, and what you are open minded to.
The only thing I can say is take your time in finding what's right. Don't go into anything due to guilt or pressure. You may try praying for an answer if you have the faith for it. Truth and Love are key principles and should reflect in what ever your decision is.

Actually, in my belief EVERYONE has been to a church! It's cuz we have been baptized with holy water when we were born. So I go to the church where i've been baptized. I've been to other churches that our in the same cities that i have lived in. You can also ask your family that you want to go to church with them. It's great that you want to go to church!
