He is 17 years old. Is anyone out there who has a child with this rare combination of Syndrome's? Thanks.

I think you have to be careful here. Some of the signs of FAS are also present in persons with Down syndrome. Probably the most important factor in a situation such as yours is if there is a history of significant alcohol use in the mother during pregnancy.

Secondly, the incidence of FAS is uncertain, and the incidence of Down syndrome varies by maternal age.

Nevertheless, I'll take a stab at an answer: the likelihood of having a child with Down syndrome and FAS is 4 per 10,000,000 births.

no,these are two different diseases. fetal alc.syndrome does not cause down syndrome,nor does down syndrome cause fetal alcohol syndrome. Down syndrome is a genetic disorder.There is a test available for pregnant women,to determine if the fetus is affected with down's or not.
