Armor plate, for when Bubba gets tired of hearing you and starts shooting, and good hearing protection so it doesn't puncture your eardrums. Anything above 90DB does PERMANENT hearing damage. That's no bull and the hearing loss is no fun.

these are the things you will need to pick out for your self

a good battery
Head Unit (radio)
components (front speakers)
coaxial (rear speakers)
sub woofers (bass)
4 channel amp (for front and rear speakers)
mono amp (for sub woofers)

if your two amps RMS watts will total 1000 watts or more you will need a higher than stock out put alternator and you will need to up grade the big 3.

the pro installers will have the rest of the stuff like wire etc.

dont worry about the size of speakers for the inside of the car because the sound shop will will handle all of that but listen to different types of speakers and pick the ones that sound best to you. the sound shop will try to push the brand they make the most money from and every body else has their on opinion on what sounds the best so get what you like. you are the only one that has to listen to it after you buy them. pick amps that are CEA compliant thats the good stuff and be sure to ask that about all amps radios and EQ's. you might want to get an EQ to give you a little more control of your system. the EQ in the radio just is not enough in a good system.
