ok im definitely getting a puppy next week. i really like Yorkies, but im skeptical now after reading on more than 2 pages online that there's no such thing as a "teacup", && that they're internal organs are weak, bones are fragile, are prone to low blood sugar, and so on, (it keeps goin) im scared because they say many are unhealthy. && Breeders use commercial names like teacup and such to raise prices and all but im willing to pay the $1300 for that puppy but is ALL this true about them??

It's all true. If you go to the AKC website (akc.org) and look at the Yorkie breed there is only ONE size of Yorkie. Terms like 'teacup' in small dogs and 'gladiator' in large dogs are keywords that basically mean badly and unethically bred. Usually breeders charge way more for these dogs than a well bred animal would cost.

what are they claiming is teacup sized? 2 pounds 3 pounds? well thats the size they are suppose to be I just went to a dog show and pretty much everyone there had 2 pound yorkies no one calls them teacups, but all of them could fit in a teacup. 1300 sounds about right for a well breed dog from someone who shows or has Champion lines, you may have to have a pet contract. Don't buy from someone who is claiming teacups these are the people who have 10 pound
dogs and breed them with a tiny male and claim they'll be 1
pound or 2 pound adults they are just cheating you.
and all small under 4 pound breed puppies are prone to low blood sugar they are so small that if they mis a meal they can get sick that's a small dog thing, that's why it is important to make sure they are eating, small dogs=fragile that's why many do not sell to people with small children, weak interal organs are from bad breeding seen in mills and profit breeders, buying a yorkie from someone with show lines is the way to go.

yes this is very true.
Not just with Yorkies.
There is no such thing as teacup in any breed.
My sister had two that were born as runts.
Dad is 4 pound,mom is 5 pounds.
She has had 4 litters and the mom is now 7 years old. The first and third litter each had 4 pups, one in each litter grew to only be 2 pounds. She refused to sell them as they were so small and would probably have health problems. They both only lived to 5 years old and died.
Tehy had several health problems including water on the brain, low blood sugar, seizures, and some others I can't think of rightnow.

I work at a kennel. About a day ago, someone dropped off their "teacup" yorkie.
Believe me. You do not want one. It is disgusting the way this poor animal has been bred to be sickly looking. The dog is ALL bone. Health issues up the wazoo. Constantly shaking.
If you're looking at Yorkies, the best thing to go with is...a yorkie.
Check out www.petfinder.com to adopt a yorkie. MUCH better than buying! (Cheaper AND you're saving a life!)

"teacup" is a generic term for an undersized dog,not a real breed or type. they are often times badly bred just to keep this small size, i would be wary of anyone advertising their dogs as teacups.
as far as health,my aunt has a yorkie as does her best friend, they are both happy healthy sassy dogs.very intelligent and sociable. i think its all in finding a good breeder, and how well you take care of them after you get them.
myself... i prefer my lil shih tzu....but then again..i could be biased lol.

No, NO ONE does because there's no such thing. Dogs who are bred to be smaller than what the breed standard calls for aren't healthy specimens.
