If you need to think in those terms, go with the pet. When you're ready for a child, it will be clear.

well now lets see, you gotta feed a pet once a day and a kid at least three, you can legally lock the pets outside and the kids you can't, you can stick the pet in a kennel if you want to go away but with kids you have to take them with you.
This is a ridiculous question, you can't compare the two!
one is a pet and yes a family member for about the next ten years and the other is for life! you are either ready to become a PARENT or your not and by the sounds you are not. single married makes no difference

Much easier to adopt a pet than a child but both need the same amount of care and attention and a lot of thought needs to be put into your decision.

Both are a big responsibility BUT a child is a lifetime commitment. If you get tired of your kid you can't find it a new home. And while a pet matters too, there is a lot less commitment to it, if you aren't sure then you ought to start with a small pet like a goldfish or hamster and move on from there.

If you're single you should adopt a pet, if you're married you should adopt a child, that way you and your husband/wife could take care of it together.

Having a child is a huge responsibility. If you adopt and the marrige doesn't work, it will be rough. I think you should adopt a pet. They are inexpensive and still give you unconditional love. Pets are great!

If you have to ask this question, then I would say that you should get something with a lot less commitment than a child or a pet. How about a pet rock?

If you don't already know the differences between adopting a pet or a child, I would say to start with a pet. There is a big difference.

It would be better for both the pet & the child if you don't adopt either.
Anyone who even needs to ask that Question isn't ready to take on the responsibility of anything needing more attention that a pet rock.

If you are really seriously asking this question then it's best for any pet or child not to be adopted by you.
