A baptized Jehovah's Witness has dedicated his/her life to God, and believes that relationship is the most important, even more important than the relationship with his/her mate. To marry someone who has not made that same dedication to God (which not every "Christian" has) would not be fair to either of them. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that is why the Bible says they should "marry only in the Lord." That being said, Jehovah's Witnesses also recognize that God granted all humans free will and the right to both make their own decisions and face the consequences thereof.

I'm not sure why they can only marry other Jehovah's Witnesses. My guess is that most Jehovah Witnesses have beliefs different from other christian denominations. They don't celebrate holidays and believe god hasn't arrived to Earth yet. So if Jehovah's witnesses marry people of other denominations they're most likely to become the religion of their spouse, and other denominations are considered sin.

The apostle Paul wrote something similar concerning humans. He said: “Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers.” (2 Corinthians 6:14) This should especially be kept in mind when choosing a marriage mate. Marriage is a permanent partnership, for Jesus Christ said: “What God has yoked together let no man put apart.” (Matthew 19:6) Much heartache results when a married couple do not share beliefs, principles, and goals. It is therefore only reasonable to follow the Bible’s admonition to marry “only in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 7:39)
Holly above does not know what she is talking about its not this Not " allowed" statement, anyone can marry anyone they choose, but they ought to know the Problems they might face down the road. There is No time for the " Oops" factor once you married and have Children to a Non Witness.

first of all, Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians---people who honor and enterprise to maintain on with Christ. yet you gets a bunch of responses from the fundamentalist/evangelical wing of Christendom, supplying you with each and all of the excuses why the JWs are not Christian, yet they are. in actuality, they are...NO, Don, close up; do not supply your prejudice loose reign (I in basic terms approximately reported that the JWs are probably greater Christian than those from the f/e camp, yet I won't; that could be as judgmental and hateful as they are!). certainly, i'm getting the impression that your chum's father is from that wing of Christendom. Too undesirable (supply up that, Don!) All that reported, I thoroughly agree alongside with your chum while he insists that he gets severe with and marry in basic terms somebody who concurs with him on the basics of what's clearly a needed area of his existence. And that could desire to hold authentic for every physique who's severe approximately his or her non secular existence---whether Catholic, Episcopalian (like me), Jehovah's Witness, or Fundamentalist/Evangelical (and no, they are actually not the only Christians!). notice to all who've given "wristshot" thumbs-downs: he's authentic; by using fact the regulation stands now in in basic terms approximately each state, they are able to be married provided that one is a woman and the different a guy; the question wasn't "could a Jehovah's Witness have the skill to marry a Christian?" If that have been the question, my reaction to his reaction may be a thumbs-down, yet I also have a suspicion that his answer nonetheless might've been the comparable by using fact the only he gave!

(2 Corinthians 6:14-17) . . .Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness? 15 Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Be′li·al? Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: “I shall reside among them and walk among [them], and I shall be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 “‘Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; “‘and I will take YOU in.’. . .

We apply The Scriptures.

They are trying to keep true believers from marrying into their cult, because truth can be infectious. It's better for the Christian (believer) not to marry a JW (non-believer) , as told in the scriptures.
What frustration it would be for a true christian to be married to one who is dogmatic about heresies and doesnt understand the fullfillment of the law, and the redemption that Christ provided.

Cause they can't marry what they consider to be sinners, I supose.

Think about it, an atheist husband and a JW wife, the wife has an accident and needs a blood transfusion to save her life ............ noone from a different religion would let her die like her faith asks her to

Anyone CAN marry any person in this day and age.

JW's are not ALLOWED because they are very strict about not being joined to someone of another faith and they believe only their faith and denomination is right.

What active convinced Trinitarian Christian would really want to marry into a JW situation by marrying a convinced antiTrinitarian JW and visa versa?
