I got this (OMG!) recipe about 10 years ago (after tasting it at a gathering) and if it's not exactly what you're looking for, it'll be close enough to adjust.

If you only want a pie, skip the 1st layer, use a ready-made shortbread pie crust, and half the remaining ingredients. I make this recipe in a large glass baking dish, easily equivalent to two pies.

Four Layer Desert

Layer 1:
1 stick melted margarine
1 1/2 c self-rising flour
1/2 c nuts

Combine (Layer 1) ingredients, spread in pan, and bake at 350 degrees for 15 min. Cool.

Layer 2:
8 oz cream cheese
1 c confectioners sugar
1 c Cool Whip

Combine (Layer 2) ingredients and spread over first (cooled) layer.

Layer 3:
2 packages instant chocolate pudding
4 1/2 c milk
1 t vanilla

Combine (Layer 3) ingredients and spread over 2nd layer.

Layer 4:
Cool Whip

Spread Cool Whip over 3rd layer.

Note: my recipe calls for 2 packages of instant pudding, without regard to package size. Honestly, I don't remember, and haven't made it in years. So, go with your gut (or your love of chocolate.)
