It is a thermocouple. It is sort of a variable resistor made by the contact of two dissimilar metals. It will create a variable resistance as a function of temperature. Used in industrial applications related to manufacturing or testing. Thermocouples are used in high temperature applications. There are many different type depending on the metals used and the temperature to be used. Resistance value is usually very low. Unless you are looking for something exotic their price is really cheap.

Check Digi-Key USA and type thermocouple in the search box.

Good luck.

Apparently about $120 according to the link. It appears to be a device used to read the thermocouples output as temperature.
