No -- really only whole protein is the answer to that. Have as many grams of protein as you can in the morning. Breakfast is truly the most important meal. If you're going to use oil, don't use olive oil; use cold pressed safflower oil (also called expeller pressed -- Hollywood is a good kind). Safflower is the richest source of linoleic acid, one of the two essential fatty acids. In the presence of linoleic acid, the body can then synthesize linolenic acid, the other essential fatty. Safflower oil is 90% Linoleic acid; the next most abundant, corn or soy oil, have only 35%. It is the breakdown of protein into simple sugar, which slowly trickles into your bloodstream all during the day, that reduces the hunger. By the way, those feelings of "appetite" are always caused by dying fat cells, so they are a good sign.

Sounds like an old wives tale rather than a legitimate way to reduce appetite. Try eating smaller portions more frequently throughout the day instead of 3 large meals a day. It'll work better than quick-fixes.

I don't know about olive oil, but coconut oil decreases appetite.
