Does Japan and the U.S. have different PSP's?

there is a japanese version of the psp where u can play jap games only.....

that is the only issue, the JAPAN PSP's will not play American UMD's. And the American PSP will not play JAPAN UMD's..
yes games will work, UMD will not work (UMD must match Region). Region 2 UMD's will work on these Region 2 PSP's. Games will still work, the games for the PSP are Region Free.

There may be slight differences but the games are region-free.
