The fetus could definitely claim self-defense in killing the doctor who was going to perform the abortion but I'm not sure if it could get away with killing the mother unless she was trying to kill the fetus herself. I'm not sure how they would handle that in a court of law, certainly it wouldn't be charged as an adult and a jury would probably sympathize with the fetus.

Well, yes if the fetus would in & of itself develop some kind of really strong & fatel type of preclampsia b/c like begins @ 18 days or so whenever the heart beats independant of any maternal stemuli -- if life is about survival of the fittest as it is in the rest of the animal kingdom. But murder never justified by whomever - and the fetus is helpless as far as being able to defend itself.

If that was possible technically yes, because it would be self defense.

But since a fetus is unable to think or at least think beyond it's own needs & instincts then the question doesn't make sense. It's like asking if a bug is justified in killing the one trying to squash it. It doesn't have the reasoning ability to know of any threat beyond instinct & pain.

Wow, funniest question in a long time!

Don't support abortion, but I'm not quite sure how the fetus is going to go about that. LOL. ;-)

No...and not only the fetus (as it is physically unable to anyway)...NO-ONE is justified in killing the mother.

It would be self defence.

While I think abortion should be legal and safe, it is definitely against my morals and socially I think we have spent way too much time on the issue and should hae spent it on instilling a sense of responsibilty about sex, and the concept that abortion is not the first choice for birth control.

If we explain the to the fetus that there is absolutely, positively NO way for it to come into existence without causing it's mother to die in the process, perhaps it would do the noble thing and give up it's life for it's mother.

But then again, that would only be in a certain amount of cases.

Undoubtedly! The fetus should chew the mothers ovaries first just in case she lives through the attempted murder.

People think that they can just keep killing babies without any consequences, but one day it will be the babies going to the clinics to have the mothers around them cut off and thrown away. What goes around comes around...
lol, FYI, I do not support the murder of babies (abortion) ;)

no, definitely not. i am pro- abortion. if a mother wants to get rid of her baby she has every right to. people who are anti abortion have problems. what if the mom is underage and cannot handle the baby coming out? what if the mom is a drug addict and does not want her baby to suffer just so that they can die 3 years later? what if the baby is retarded? should it really be subjected to go through life being made fun of and not know whats going on?there are many more reasons that she should be able to get it aborted. so no, he fetus would not be justified in killing the mother, even though it would be ery impossible.
