Nun, 79, in sex case pleads no contest
MILWAUKEE - A 79-year-old Roman Catholic nun pleaded no contest yesterday to two counts of indecent behavior with a child for alleged sexual encounters with two male students at a church convent and school where she was principal during the 1960s. The nun, Norma Giannini, and her attorney left the courthouse without comment after entering the pleas in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Giannini faces a maximum 10 years on each count when sentenced Feb. 1. According to the criminal complaint, the two men told authorities they had dozens of sexual encounters with Giannini, including intercourse, while attending St. Patrick's School. (AP)

Good gracious. When is the catholic church going to let those poor people marry?! I'm talking about the priests and nuns. My catholic mother told me that the church used to allow the priests to marry and they would give them houses to live in. But when the priests died, they were leaving the houses to their children and not the church. She said that's why they wouldn't let priests marry anymore.

Most likely its not a now...its only that a nun was finally caught. Keep in mind women are more sneakier than men...I'm sure this story holds truth more often and will come to light.

You think because you read this for the first time in a newspaper that this sort of behavior is only *now* starting?

History shows any sort of celibate society results in sexual deviation, typically manifesting in coerced unconsentual sex with minors.

This is not news.

There is sexual abuse in all segments of society, Christian, Jewish, Muslim - none of them are free from it.

There isn't enough room on here to list all of the cases of Protestants and others who have been found guilty of sexual abuse of children.

The case should have been dismissed as they should have made their accusations as soon as they reached adulthood.
They probably revelled in it at the time.
