I hate it when people say that there are some things that nobody should joke about, ex. rape, child abuse, murder, race, religion... some of those jokes happen to be the FUNNIEST out there. Anybody listen to George Carlin?

I enjoy a good joke as much as anyone, but if someone makes jokes that sound cruel and outrageous to me, I will not find it funny.

If you were a victim of rape or child abuse, racism or religious
persecution, or someone that you loved was murdered; you would not find any of those topics funny, just heartbreaking and cruel.

I hope that none of those horrible things ever touch your life, you will not want to remember asking this question and receiving my answer.

I suppose that the free speech protections in the Constitution allow people to make jokes about all kinds of inappropriate topics. But I don't have to laugh at them. There are definitely some jokes that aren't funny.

It all depends on where you are and who you are with.
Personally I don't care for George Carlin.

You can tell some jokes in a sleezy bar that you can't tell at an Embassy Ball!

Johnny Carson used to say "you can't joke about Abraham Lincoln... it's still too soon"
