Skepticism and free thought. Liberating to know I am responsible for my actions.

Absolutely nothing. Well, nothing particular anyway.

I'm called an atheist, because i don't believe in any form of higher power, gods or whatever. But I've always found the term atheism to be a useless label. Why label me because others invented all sorts of nonsense?

Hence, what's good about being an atheist, are the same things that are good about not being a stamp collector, not believing that she sky will fall on my face tonight and not believing that Kermit the Frog lives in my back yard.

Not sure I really get your meaning on this? I suppose I could say, staying in bed sunday mornings, but anyone can do that, anyway. I bet lots of christians do, lol.

Being an atheist is about what one believes (or not) about the way the world works, not really about a list of plus and minus points.

Cheers :-)

1. Not having all that stress about whether or not I have enough faith.

2. Not having my brain synapses short circuit after trying to force myself to make sense out of the Bible.

3. Not having to go to church to be judged by everyone there on how good of a Christian I am.

I could go on and on but I'll leave it at that....

I've never been anything else so I can't really compare.
I can only assume it's the freedom from the weight of the invisible sky critter and the expectations of your fellow delusionists.

I am an adult.
I realize this will be the best life I will ever have.
I'm not afraid. What could be more terrifying than 'believe this and live this way or suffer terribly for eternity?' Nothing. That is the ultimate example of bondage.
I'm not solipsistic.
I'm allowed to think.

Being able to own my actions and thoughts. I don't blame my mistakes on some evil influence and I can take credit for my accomplishments without having to praise some imaginary being.
