I have a xbox 360--it got the redring about 6 months after playing it alot. i also have the hd dvd add on. only hd dvds i have are king kong and 300...king kong looks great but 300 not so much imo in certain spots it looks decent.
Well after the redring. No dvd watching or game playing 4 a month and a week.
Then they send me back a "different" xbox360..Isnt even the one i sent them...And its not new...And when i open the disk slot it makes a loud noise and when i shut it it makes a rumble noise then followed by the same loud noise. And its loud when watching dvds..I use to play alot..Like all night every other night but after the month and a week loss and having to redownload arcade games i only play like 1 hour a night every other weekend...I watch dvds in a normal dvd player thats quieter.
Thinking about going 40 gig ps3 with 6 blu rays for 399...Feel like microsoft let me down kinda. Is ps3 good for a casual gamer and the blu ray player?

2008 will be Sony's year. All the great knockouts for the 360 are already out: Halo, Mass Effect, Bioshock. What else can they send in 2008? Pretty much nothing. The PS3 has MGS4, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Eight Days, Getaway 3, Final Fantasy XIII, do I need to go on?

Blu ray player is decent. If you ever watched a dvd on a ps2, then you will get about the same feeling. Its probably the way you watch it and use the controller as a remote that makes you feel uncomfortable. There is a remote though, so if you dont like using a controller than you can buy a remote. Also Blu-Ray is leading the industry and even though Paramount pictures only releases its movies on DVD and HD DVD, directors and costumers are complaining about that fact that they are not recieving their films on Blu-Ray.

I would highly recommend to get one, specially when right now the 40gb comes with a blu ray movie, I think it is Spiderman 3.

I very own the two structures.. And thus far I had extra relaxing with the 360.. The ps3 is okay.. It does have some very nicely RPGs... and that i stress the word very nicely... The 360 loses out graphically to the PS3 actual yet that does no longer mean the 360's image sucks.. it is in basic terms no longer almost as good.. yet as for high quality video games the 360 has a extra applicable decision...My suggestion is the 360... till you're a image whore and truthfully into the Sony unique including Gran Turismo and God Of war 3.. yet of direction.. it is your decision...

Well I would say go with PS3 cuz its better, but since you bought a HDDVD add on it would seem like a waste of money. But PS3 for sure is a great choice, free online built in wifi, built in Blu-Ray and more games are coming in the future.

you are making the right choices. there will be over 300 games released for ps3 by spring 2008. the blu-ray player is just as good as other blu-ray players
