like in a dodge ram they have that thing that says like you have 15 miles left in your tank

It's in the over head and it's called the DTI.Which means 'distant till empty'. Its computed by how fast you are traveling at that particular time and how much fuel you are burning according to the injector pulse width along with what fuel it determines is left in the tank. If you are under a load, it will show fewer miles to empty than if you were out on the highway just cruising. Also it is not an accurate measurement. As a rule of thumb, you should have around 5 or so miles to go after it shows 0 DTI. It always tries to error in you're favor. But I wouldn't test it unless I brought some extra gas along with me.

Do not know, but the thing that lets you know that it is not working is called "walking".
If you keep the top half of the gas tank full you won't have to worry about the bottom half.

All manufacturures call it something different. It is an information center. Distance to empty is a basic term for it

I have 2 lexuses and it says that two. In my cars it is called the display

that's a distance meter ,it estimates how much mileage you may have left on what gas is left in the vehicle,their not very accurate either,when it comes on its time to get gas,good luck on it.
