I hope you realize that there is enough food on earth to feed everyone till they are healthy. But thanks to the sinful nature, people are gluttons and keep more than enough food for themselves and watch people die in other countries. In order for God to do this task. He would have to kill a lot of selfish people who steal blessings. Gods plan to end poverty is genious unfortunatley due to greed and disobedience from the church the plan hasn't succeded yet. If every Christian gave their ten percent to their church. The Christian church body ( all churches combined) would raise up an estimated over 80 billion dollars a year. Thats enough money to build a strong sturdy house for every poor family in the world. Provide clothes... we could build a bunch of factories, make and give away clothes to all the people who need them. Build over 80 billion wells in africa and bring them water so much water the desert would be an oasis... The possibilities would be endless what we could do with that money, free hospitals to help the sick. But like I said sinful nature and self centeredness keeps this from happening. So stop bad mouthing God because he isn't the problem we sinners are. God doesn't do it because it requires every member of the church to obey him and thats not going to happen untill he returns to earth and wipes out all existance of sin. The harvest is plenty but the workers are few.

People need to get off their high horse and help suffering people. Even if there is a God, he's not doing anything. A lot of my fellow missionaries say they can see God on the face of a smiling child. I could never see that. I saw a smiling child, and although it didn't remind me of God, it reminded me that in no matter what circumstances there is always a little bit of good.
If there is a God he is more responsible for starving children than we are. Just like a parent is responsible for providing his/her children with basic needs, God should also be responsible. According to Christians he brought everyone into the world. Shouldn't he take care of them when they are here then?
As a missionary people tell me I'm doing God's work. Can't God do his own work? They say he sent me to do his work for him. What about free will? I thought I was supposed to have free will. So if I have free will and God wanted me to go do his work and I chose not to he would just let these pepole suffer? I'm doubtful about his existence.

No, God does answer prayers. I think your question is a valid one though. First of all, God did not create suffering like many people think. He gave us a perfect life w/lush gardens and beautiful things. Man ruined it w/pride and selfishness. This brought about disease, suffering, poverty, etc.
God has answered many prayers for those that suffer. Many have been rescued in some sense. Brought to America, sponsored by a family, gotten a free education, etc. The reason some still suffer is that we will never have perfection until Christ returns. There will always be poverty, destruction, crime, etc. until we are in a perfect setting again w/God.
I heard one thing recently that impacted me. When something bad happens, don't say "where is God?" ask "where are God's people?". We need to make sure we do our part to help the hungry, suffering, etc until Christ calls us home.

The Scriptures make it plain that God did not create the world in the state in which it is now, but evil came as a result of the selfishness of man. Certainly, God is capable of destroying evil and suffering--but not without destroying human freedom, or a world in which free creatures can function. No doubt, God could have made the universe in such a way that nothing ever went wrong. But he didn’t. He created a world that is free to be itself—and to express its identity in continually fresh and creative ways. For some reason, he thinks that is good.
Maybe that’s because it takes such a world, a wild and free world, to be the breeding ground for things God values in human beings—things like courage, devotion, loyalty, self-sacrifice, kindness, generosity, hope, trust. By anybody’s reckoning these are a few of the noblest features of humanity. Would they be in a world without risk, danger, calamity—and death? And where would love be? Love isn’t just a matter of getting along. Love is made real in the crucible of suffering, of self-sacrifice, of loyalty and devotion against the odds.
How do we as Christians respond to the problem of evil and suffering? With sorrow. With sadness. With revulsion. With perplexity. With questions that have no answers ... Each of us has had wrong thoughts, evil thoughts. Each of us has done something wrong — something evil. Why does God allow evil within us? None of us deserves to escape punishment, and yet God allows escape, too. If we ask why there is evil, we should also ask why there is mercy. Let us fight against evil and needless suffering, starting with ourselves!

You're right, God doesn't answer all prayers.
One reason is mentioned in Isaiah 1:15
"Though you make many prayers, I am not listening; with bloodshed your very hands have become filled."
Obviously God wants nothing to do with those who love violence.
That incorporates a large number.
They can pray all they want ....God has left the building!
Plus...........
God is not the strongest influence in the world these days.
1 John 5:19 tells us:
"The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one."
Satan is the cause of all the woes we see.
God will set matters straight in his due time.

Well if you are an atheist, it would be stupid for you to even ask this question. If there is no God for you, you can.t blame the ills of world on something that doesn't exist.

God does answer prayers that are in harmony with his purpose. His purpose being that the entire planet be brought eventually back to perfection under a heavenly government. He does not answer the prayers of those who are not genuinely seeking him or living their lives in harmony with his word.
God will see to it that all those who suffer are relieved of their suffering permanently. He is temporarily allowing such suffering in order to answer the question of sovereignty originally raised in the garden of Eden by Satan - who attested that God did not have the right to set the standards as to what is good and what is bad, right and wrong.
The time that has passed by during which God is allowing men to suffer, to grow old, to get sick, to die is for the purpose of once and for all proving to ALL in heaven and on earth that God's way really is the best way. And that men cannot govern themselves with out him.
In HIS due time all suffering, pain, death, sickness will be permanently brought to an end and the earth will be restored to the paradise conditions that Adam and Eve enjoyed before their sin.

If a prayer request is not granted, it is often understood as an unanswered prayer. However, this an incorrect understanding of prayer. God answers every prayer that is lifted to Him. What we have to remember is that sometimes God answers "no" or "wait." God only promises to grant our prayers when we ask according to His will. 1 John 5:14-15 tells us, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
The suffering and pain that is in this world is not because God makes it happen. More so, God "allows" it to happen. Everything that is in this world is because of mankind. Yes, Gos loves everyone... and He hates to see those who suffer go through pain. But His plan is greater than our own. And He left His followers on this earth to do His work. Which is to take care of the poor and the needy. To lend a helping hand.

what a sad, sad viewpoint...not to mention short-sighted! God has provided all we need to feed everyone in the world and clear instructions ("love your neighbor as yourself") and yet we fail to use what we have and we treat our neighbor as our rival at best, and our enemy at worst...and then have the gall to blame Him???? we worship this culture of 'grab all you can with both hands whether you need it or not-just make sure the other guy doesn't get any' and we cry about poverty? i would think that one would be more easily and logically led to the conclusion that we are a species of short-sightedness, lack of empathy, and a surfeit of greed, envy, and laziness!
rather than blame the One who created all and provides all, maybe we should (as i have said repeatedly) grow up, get off our lazy butts, get over ourselves, and start acting as if we matter to each other!

evrythg has to be balanced. if there is evil, there must be good. if there is a winner, there must be loser. the same concept is applied here. there are some people who are rich n some are poor. the question is why God choose them? the answer is easy. it's because God wants to test them. poverty is a form of test. if those people can live without grumble each second and appreciate everythg they have, they are going to pass the test. rich people dont have this kind of test but they have to face other kind of test like how they spend their money. is it for good or for evil. n if they can used it wisely and didnt become arrogant, they pass the test..
see, everyone has their own test from God..but some of us just don't realise it yet..
God is always there to hear our prayer.. we just need to be patient to hear His answer,
