I prefer my Winchester 12 guage. Mainly because of the fact it was my first gun when I was younger. It mainly up to your prefered manufacturer more than anything. Like Chevy or Ford.

With Winchester being sold in 2006 they have effectively removed themselves from the running as one of the top Firearms manufacturers. I expect they will be moving production over sea's..

As a Dealer and a Lifetime Hunter, I don't think you can beat a Remington 870 Wingmaster or Remington 870 Express Shotgun..I sell Remington 870's 10-1 over ANY other brand in my shops...Period

I collect Pump Shotguns and have complete sets of both.
Winchesters are as listed Mod 12 in 12ga full and mod choke
16ga full and mod 20ga full and mod 28 ga Full and Mod
410 ga is a Mod 42 looks exactly like a mod 12

Remington Mod 870 12 full mod 16 full mod 28 ga full and mod 20 ga full and mod and a 410 mod 870 full and mod

I shoot them all from time to time. My collection is worth about 15,000.00 but i can't see not using them. I prefer the Rem 870s the slide has two rails and operates smoother than the mod 12 which only has one.

Remington 870 all the way. As JD said, Winchester was recently sold. Remingtons are very dependable guns and will always go bang if properly cared for.

Winchester is for the most part defunct. Remington 870's and 1100's have been the standard for decades.

You cannot go wrong with a Remington 1100 12 guage. For serious shooting dump the pump and get a semi auto. Mine has killed hundreds of dove and quail, and never, never has it jammed. For quail make sure you use a full choke barrell.
