i just dumped my supposed fiance because i decided that he was obviously conning me into marriage to get a green card.

i knew he was a con because he was lying to me about visa issues.

anyway, to know FOR SURE if i did the right thing, do you think this response is an anwer? he hasn't said a word to my email (i sent email because i didn't want him to try to sweet-talk his way out of it). i figure that if he was sincere, he'd be over here trying to show me his documentation and prove he's for real.

what do you guys think?

Well, sadly, you're probably right. (That, or he gives up too easily.)

If he was conning you, you aren't the first and you won't be the last. He is probably on to his other potential marriage partners as you read this, trying to wangle a way into the country. This is a trick played in Eastern Europe too.

Why was he your fiance ? Did you not know all this first? Why could you just date until you knew each other better?
