I've lived in New Jersey, 15 min away from NY, my entire life & I've never been to the parade. I may want to go this year but I'm not sure what time I should arrive so I could have a decent standing area where I am able to see the ENTIRE parade! Where is the best area to see the parade & what time should I be there?

Get there early...around 8AM or so. It may be best to check out the parade somewhere along the 60's at Central Park West since heading towards Macy's it will be nuts!

The parade goes down Central Park West and Broadway so don't hang out on Fifth Ave....The link provides info on where you can view and says that people get there as early as 6:30 AM

Since it's not a Federally Funded Parade -- I think a GIANT CONDOM would be good Advert and would send a message that may save Thousands of Lives. .

Get there around 7 am last year my brother went wiht his kid, (we both live in ny) and he said he go ther at 8 aand he was still at the bCK OF THE CROWD. Also the night before you should go see the balloons getting blown up although i am not sure at what time that starts.

I'd get in fround of Macy's or across the street from it.If it possible I send the night, I don't know there rules. If you can't spend the night I would leave an hour and a half early. Have fun.

Anywhere along 5th Ave, I believe - but Herald Square is where it ends. As for what time to get there - since some people camp out from the night before, I'd suggest going as early as you can.

I always enjoy the night before when they are filling up the balloons. It's pretty cool uptown then, an energy that swells up inside.
