Have ladies with men in the house ever sat on a wet toilet seat??? I have 2 sons, 2 brothers and 2 nephews, all of them will be visiting over the holidays. I would like to either designate a boy's room and a ladies' room, or have them responsible for cleaning the bathrooms twice a day, they can take turns. We can't really vote on it as they all won't be here at the same time , except for major holidays. Is it insulting to request this of immediate family members? Men, your feelings too!

you go jud i on the same level as you with this so it got to a stage that i said to my 2 boys that was when they were younger if you piss on the seat or the floor the next tin\me i am going ti rub your face in it well you now guess for yourself what i did and it never happened again and they never leave the seat up as that pissed me of big time so that is how i fixed the problem in my house but my boys were younger i would say to then if they piss and miss they clean it :-)

It is your home, you make the rules. If you want to designate one bathroom as a men's room, then do so.

I cannot imagine any man not raising the seat when urinating. Thankfully, the men in our family raise the seat, and also put down both seat and lid when done.

Why don't you have a talk with your sons and your brothers, and they can talk with the nephews?

Communication is the keyword here.

I have a sign on the wall where the men can clearly see it....

My aim is to keep the bathroom clean; Your aim would help! If you can't hit the toilet bowl, the cleaner is under the sink!

I keep a jug of the Lysol disinfectant cleaners there. I've not had a wet seat yet!

Put a sign on the back of the toilet that request "proper" usage. Then the only people that read it will be the "standing pee'rs" hopefully that should get some attention to the matter.

my husband doesn't do this but all three of my boys have and so has one of my nephews. no matter how many times i come out screaming, it still happens. it's amazing how my boys will lift the seat when at others homes but not there own. i think the idea of a boys/girls room is great.

I keep a container of sanitizing wipes in a basket on the back of my toilet with a sign on it that says. "If you sprinkle, When you tinkle, Please be neat and Wipe the seat"
This has worked for me. I explain the "rule" of seat wiping to younger children and have found that many of them love to use the special "wipeys" and feel immensely proud of themselves for being so responsible.

You know what you do, lock the door for 6 hours and tell them that is their punishment and if they do it again 8 hours. Hide the key in your bra no one will get from there.
