Ok i am building a bridge for my science fair project. i am building a trsuss bridge but i dont know whats the name of the support on the top called. its like a roof plzz help

The entire support structure is the truss. I don't believe there are names other than top and sides.

The top part of a bridge truss is simply called the "top chord". If it is a bridge truss then it is not like a roof, that is actually the major distinction among types of trusses (bridge vs. roof). What material is the bridge to be made out of?
