Do pets get sore throats, allergies, sinus congestion and headaches? Can a cat have migraines?

Just curious.

Sometimes cats get laryngitis, can have sinus problems (especially Persians bred with shortened faces), allergies to foods mostly. In the headache or migraine category there is no way to access that in a cat.

Otherwise their body systems are the same as ours - one heart, one liver and pancreas, two lungs, two kidneys, one bladder with urethras, ovaries and fallopian tubes if female and testes and vas differens if male.
Thyroid hormones, growth hormones etc. too.

They have their own flu viruses and other diseases specific to their species (FIV, leukemia, panleucopenia, etc).

They can have problems with any organ system just like humans and they can get cancers of those various organs.

They can have allergies and congestion but I'm not sure about migraines and headaches although I wouldn't doubt it. They have nerves too.

Bella, my dear, the answer is yes!! Animals can and do get the same diseases as we, other animals do. They get cancer, diabetes, arthritis, CHF, sinusitis, heart murmurs, etc. Anyone who tells you differently are not as knowledgeable as they think. There may be a few distinctions, but none the less, they can acquire the same diseases as we humans. Very good question!!

Some sicknesses are for both pets and humans, but most diseases humans get, pets don't. It really depends on the disease.
