Your scarf is cutting off blood flow to the pleasure centers of the brain.

Because happiness is fleeting. It's like a quark in physics. It exists for only a fraction of a second and then is no more. Just as soon as you put the phone down after being informed you won a bazillion dollars in the lottery, you get a tooth ache or find out that Aunt Lulu just passed away.

Also, another common fallacy is that we're not necessarily expected to be happy. There's a lot of evidence that we weren't put on earth to be happy all the time. It's only in the last 100 years that people had time to quantify and identify happiness.

Cheer up. A glass of water is only half empty when you're in the desert. It's half full in a rain forest.

I don't know why you aren't happy. Mostly because I don't know what you're not happy about. I suggest you find some different friends if you're doing the same thing all the time and possibly start doing some new things instead.

If you really want a good answer. You might want to try expanding your question by starting off what it could possibly be that's making you feel unhappy. Then maybe someone can answer it.

Thats really all I have for information for you but that's a good place to start.

Why aren't you? Appreciate the good things in life such as health, being alive, family etc. I don't think people can be indefinitely happy but can learn to find balance. Nobody's happy forever, there are crappy moments but we still need to appreciate the good things we have instead of concentrating so much on the negative.

Depression?
Sadness every now and then is completely normal. If you aren't happy anymore and/or have various signs of depression (found here:http://www.helpguide.org/mental/depression_signs_types_diagnosis_treatment.htm), then you should visit your doctor. The longer you wait, the more it'll hurt.

It might just be a mood in which case you should read a book...get in nature or take a nap until it passes. If not you may need to figure out what would make you happy and take that up..like new interests...things that excite you...or there may be things you need to get rid of in your life..good luck soldier....

You may be involved in a situation that makes you unhappy, or you may not be involved in a situation that could make you happy. Evaluate your place in life right now and see if it's where you want to be. If not, take a left and head in another direction.

: Who can you talk to? And what can you say? How much can you hope to be understood? How many complications can you anticipate? No communication process is ever perfect. People, even with the best will in the world - and the greatest desire to co-operate - often fail to see eye to eye. But that's no reason to withhold trust or pursue a policy of isolationism. Share as much as you dare. You may yet be pleasantly surprised by the extent to which your point of view is recognised, acknowledged and honoured - especially if you can now do your best to listen without prejudice and to speak without antagonism

####good day to you####
