I may be getting older but I know a little something about fashion sense, everyday I see these people wear their pants half way off their butts with the crotch at their knees....what are they trying to say because I know It has nothing to do with fashion,no one I know would do this because for one...Its a ridiculous look and quite frankly I think It looks stupid,so someone PLEASE tell me what this is all about

Try wearing a kilt, it's the same thing but considered menswear. There was and may be a menswear line of skirts called "utilikilt". I saw one guy with one of these. In western society men don't get to wear skirts and dresses even though women can wear mens clothes all the time and even shop and try on clothes from the mens side. A double standard to be sure. By the way, don't those things the Arab men wear look like long shirt dresses?

I hope this is just a fad and will fade away rather quickly. Its really gross watching some guy walk down the street with right hand pulling up his pants and the left pulling at his crotch. Then every minute or so he will switch hands.
No wonder he cant learn anything! He is too busy concentrating on what his hands are holding on to. If he loses his concentration, his pants will fall

Yes, you are getting older and fashion sense is in the eye of the beholder. Try and think back to some of the fashions that have been around before, some which you might have worn?
One of the very functions of fashion amongst the young is to distinguish themselves from other generations. If you consider them ridiculous then it's serving its purpose. I don't get it either and it looks ridiculous to me, but then somewhere I've got pictures of me in getups that make me cringe. So let them enjoy their fashion and be thankful we don't have to suffer saggy jeans to big ourselves up amongst our peers.

It's not really a big fashion except in some rather lower-class circles. It's started as a show of solidarity with prison inmates, who aren't allowed to have belts to hold up their pants, and therefore their pants tend to slip, sometimes. Now, it's just a combination of fashion statement ("Hey, look at me, I wish I were in prison!") and political statement ("Hey, the brothers are getting a bad rap . . .")
And yes, you're right, it does look stupid.

It's just a fashion trend, almost all adults think it's stupid and ridiculous, but you know how the kids are.....I have to say I was impressed with a grown man who, upon encountering a saggin kid outside the grocery store, told him to pull up his pants, that he'd get some respect if he pulled his pants up, told him how other people perceive him walking around with his azz all out...and dude pulled his pants up.

They are slaves to fashion. I laugh at those guys that walk around hanging on to their pants, because if they don't they'll fall down.
These are usually wanna be gang bangers, with little sense.
I saw a guy literally reach down to his ankles to get his car keys while holding up his pants with the other hand.
I almost died laughing.
See Eliberto proves my point. No sense at all.
Fathead might be on to something...

that look is terrible! its not attractive/sexy and makes you look like you get hand me down cloths that don't fit. i always thought a fashion trend should attract the opposite sex but this actually repeals all the girls i know!
Ever see someone wearing these pants try to run? the police have caught several 'runners' because their baggy pants tripped them! Now that is funny!!
one new guy at my work showed up like that (wore normal pants to the interview) i told him if i wanted to see his whities i would hope they would be white at least! Seems like dirty looking underwear complete the look ) 8o

Its because they wanted to be.....
1) help full: by using their pantlegs to mob the floor or sweep the concrete.
2) vent some cool air to their butt. Save you some AC bills
3) ITS COOOOOOL
4) I'm one of those kid that like to pull their pants down and take picture in their embarassing moments. Teach them a lesson.

The kids think it looks kewl, but I believe they really donn't know where it came from and what it means! It stems from prisons and it means that you are a receiver! In other words you take it up the poo chute! I think if they all realized this fact there would be very few wearing their pants like this!
