Ryan's Mom - You made me laugh! My boys have that problem!! My pop drives trucks (as do half my family) and they will see one of his trucks and scream "Mummy look poppy's F**K!!' It's so embarrassing, I wish the ground would eat me up sometimes!! lol!!

Any way back to the question the twins have a Leapfrog book thing. I know great name, you put a book into it and it reads to them and they can play activities on it. Like finding the brown bear and counting. They love it!

They also have an alphabet ball. It sits on a spinner and when the roll the ball, it says the alphabet. If you touch on the letters it says the sound. We actually picked it up at the secondhand shop, so I am not sure if they still sell them.

My 5yo God-Daughter has the same one as Ryan's Mum and she loves it. She has had it for awhile and her speech and spelling is great.
I love Leapfrog toys!! I know when buying them you are getting a good quality toy. Anyone you buy is worth the money!!

Well, it depends on where your daughter is in terms of early learning skills. If she doesn't know her letters yet (as in identifying them by name and by sound), the Phonics Radio would be a good start. It was one of my son's favorite toys beween 18 - 24 months old. It plays a song about a letter, and the child has to press the button with the corresponding letter on it. If she already knows her letters and is maybe starting to read small words, the one Ryan's Mom suggested would be great. I think it's called Word Whammer, not Jammer; I saw it in Toys R Us today. I think Santa will end up bringing it this year.
Oh, my son also has the Vtech Tote 'N Go laptop. It has 20 games that teach letters, numbers, etc. It also teaches basic computer skills, which is great. My son has had it for a few months, and he loves it! It cost about $20 and was worth every penny.

My son turned 3 in Aug and I got him the Leap Frog Word Jammer. It has magnetic letters, that when placed in the tray will sound out the letters and the words. It has helped my son with the letter T pronunciation. Now he says TRUCK instead of F***K. It was quite embarassing when we were at the store and he would see a truck in the parking lot and say loudly, "Mommy, look at the F***"
