I just use a combination of brown sugar, honey and pineapple juice - not the heavy syrup - and mix them together and pour over the ham. I have never measured but I estimate I use about 1/2 to 3/4 cup brown sugar; 2 tablespoons of honey and 1/4 cup pineapple juice.

I baked a ham this afternoon, using a glaze of brown sugar, pineapple, and pineapple juice. I like a sweet glaze, and this was plenty sweet enough for my taste. For a half ham, I used 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, 2T pineapple juice, and about 1/4 cup crushed pineapple. I also studded my ham with whole cloves, which doesn't affect the glaze flavor. The amount of pineapple I add varies, depending on my mood. It's a recipe in my head (that came from my mother's head) and my first memory of using this glaze is from about 40 years ago.

I have a great glaze recipe with mustard in it but you don't have to use it if you don't like it. I don't like molasses and certain spices, I just omit them from the recipe, taste it while mixing ingredients if it needs something add what you like. That's how I came up with this glaze.
1 cup brn sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp cinnamon
zest of 1 lemon
4 or 5 Tbsp Cayenne pepper (yes I wanted to something different we like the spice)
1/4 bottle La Victoria hot sauce
1 can Coke
Mix all ingredients except Coke, score ham and slather mixture on ham. Let marinate for a couple of hours then pour coke over the ham slowly, place in oven and baste often. If you don't like spicy don't add the Cayenne or the hot sauce. Substitute with tomato paste.

I use one small jar of peach or apricot preserves heated with a drizzle of pineapple juice and 1/2 can of crushed pineapple added and spread over entire ham and cook until or u can wait and add the glaze 30 minutes before done if u want it runny... i always use boneless hams, and i marinate mine in a can of pineapple juice for 24 hours and it is so flavorful and not too salty...
