Both, religion and politics, can sometimes be ill-defined. When someone has some kind of moral-character about him then he is probably going to lean more toward conservatism as opposed to "it all depends on what the meaning of the word IS is." As well as Ellen DeGeneres shooting take and take and take and take of crying in front of a TV camera . . . Until she finally got it right. Now, I am not saying that all Republicans are religious . . . But look at the Kennedys. They were all womanizers and some even drowned their pregnant secretary GF. Still, they boasted about being Catholic. So, I don't think all Democrats are Atheists either. However, it can still be a question here . . .

As a matter of fact, yes. My neighbor two doors down is an atheist and Republican. My older brother is an atheist and a Republican. They believe people should be responsible for themselves, and they hate an overbearing, large-as-a-pig, federal government. Ooooh, those evil atheists!!!!

Republican Theist.

My ex husband is a militant atheist and a republican. He's a Marine Corps officer.

Me, I am for the protection of the environment, animals, welfare for human beings, and for the family. If there were really Christian democrats, I would be one.

I have, Republicans have the image, to their detriment often, of being The religious party. Many, myself once, are closer to Libertarian than the middle of the party image of the republicans. I am a Libretarian now!

Liberal and Republican are not opposites. Liberal and conservative are closer to opposites.

For example, I'm a conservative atheist, but I'm certainly not a Republican.

Phooey on Repubs. I'm a REAL conservative. Libertarian--the Future is Ours! (Which is truly the worst thing I could imagine wishing on anybody!)

Yes, I sure have. They are disgusted with the neocons and are staying in the party in hopes of returning it to classic conservatism.

One is a friend.

If there is a republican atheist, it just proves that God's grace is universal in it's reach.
