When you send an email to someone, do you reference it to anything or do you just say your peace in the hopes that the person will know what in the hell you are talking about?

LOL, All. Thank you. This in reference to an email that I received this morning that just said "You're answer is way off base. You're an idiot and you suck"

When I send a mail I try to link what I am talking about... (at least in the first mail if it becomes corespondence I don't link in each mail after the first)..

Most mail I receive is hate mail, most are rants about something I have said with no link.. Some I can figure out from context others are simply far to garbled to understand what the person is saying much less what set them off...

Which reminds me it's been almost 3 days since my last "hate mail" I am beginning to feel unloved LOL

Most of the emails I get is hate mail (lol), and the people who send hate mail are usually too cowardly or too stupid to tell me what they're talking about. All they usually do is "%$#%#%$@ you're a horrible person ^#%$#%$#" and some copy and pasted scripture.

But I have actually I've gotten a few nice emails that were referenced.

When I email someone, I always reference it because I know how confusing it can be when it isn't referenced.

LOL! I've never initiated....oh wait, yes I did once. Ok, yes, I prefaced it with what I was referring to.

But most of the time I have no idea what the emailer is ranting about when it lands in my inbox. It just goes off and I have to either ignore it or reply and actually ask.

Most of the time when I receive hate mail, the e-mailer doesn't reference anything. I usually don't know what they are talking about.

I can't believe hate mail is being originated in R&S !!! It's totally contrary to what this category should be about.

Sorry you've got negative mail. Maybe, they'll get the point by seeing it written in print.

Most of the hate mail I get specifically references what I said to tick them off. Other times, I just get an e-mail filled with Bible verses and venom, telling me what a horrible person I am.

*shrug*

Ha Ha Ha...beautiful. There are times I get: "Great answer" or "You're Wrong" **$@&^^^%

And I have no idea what it's in reference to.

I try to reference it. You can not assume that the other will remember what you're trying to talk about, and it is courteous to do so.

They usually just leave a string of insults, then say this is in reference to "your question" or "your answer". Makes things crystal clear.
