What forever young said.

Eternal life is living forever, or eternally. That doesn't say how well you will live, or in what state you will be in.

Exaltation is the state of being able to live with God and Christ.

So, eternal life is state in which you will be in, exaltation is WHERE you will be. Does that make sense?

I would have to agree with Isolde and whapingmon. Eternal life and exaltation are the same thing. Eternal life is the same as saying God's life. (see D&C 19:6-13) The link below provides a very good and short definition of eternal life.

The second link is to Exaltation. It just says see eternal life.

Some people seem to be a bit confused on this matter.

Eternal life is exaltation into the type and quality of life that God lives.

Immortality is simply living forever.

The church teaches that God's purpose is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. Through Christ's death and resurrection, the sting of death was removed. Man has the opportunity to live forever (immortality).Through Christ's atoning sacrifice in the garden of Gethsemane where he paid for our sins, man may have the opportunity to be exalted and have eternal life if he accepts Christ, repents, keeps the commandments, etc.

Like has been said: eternal life is just that. Living forever. Everyone will have eternal life.
Exaltation means having an exalted eternal life, or living eternally in glory (basically, but that's a simplified way of putting it).

Eternal Life and Exaltation are interchangable terms. The lesser form of salvation is immortality.

This is my work and my glory to bring to pass the immortality AND eternal life of man.

They say that 'eternal life' is an individual exaltation, godhood or salvation. It is gained by faithful Mormons who will keep all of the Mormon commandments.

Exaltation is a synonymous with eternal life. Only those Mormons who gain exaltation have the ability to become gods and procreate throughout eternity.

Sounds crazy? Not to them, they believe it!

It is actually simple. Eternal Life is just that, living forever. Exaltation is Living forever with God.

We all will have eternal life...

Exaltation is getting to live in the celestial kingdom with our families as they are sealed to us and to live with Jesus and our Heavenly Father.

I would imagine it's something like this

Eternal life is just that - eternal life, doesn't say how good it is, or where you are going to spend it.

Exaltation is living eternally in a god-like state.

But then, I could have it all wrong.
