If you believe what people say about how many units are in a typical drink, there are supposed to be 6 in a bottle of wine and 2 for each pint of average beer.
Therefore, it follows that a bottle of wine is the equivalent of 3 pints of beer. If you drunk 3 pints of beer a night, no-one would bat an eyelid. Perhaps drinking a bottle of wine every night on your own indicates you are more than just a social drinker, but if that's all you drink, it doesn't seem that bad.

I regularly have a bottle of wine to myself. It'd be much more healthy to stick to one or two glasses though on a regular basis, and save drinking a lot for every now and then. It's very easy to become an alcoholic (like I'm becoming) pace yourself while you can!

I think it is quite "bad" yes.
I think anyone who can't have a glass of wine and stop at that but just *has* to finish the bottle has an issue developing.
If its just a rare occurance then i wouldn't worry too much though :)
My mum does it regularly and my fellas mum does it regularly, so that 2 out of 2... I think its really common and becomming a problem nationally.

No its not bad if you don`t do it too often, last night I had 4 bottles of bud, shared 4 bottles of champagne [3 of us] then started on wine, can`t remember coming home though.

I don't think it's bad for you as long as you don't do it every night. I've had a whole bottle of wine to myself before.

Just the one is it? I don't know really, I've known people smoke 60/80 cigarettes a day & not even cough. Also drink like fish & live to be 90. It's a bit of a lottery really, so there you go...

I don't think so but some boffin somewhere will probably tell you it's a binge and will make your liver explode. I hardly ever only drink one bottle of wine coz I'm mental.

a bottle of wine is 80% water how bad can it be? over a peroid of 3 or 4hours in the evening , it won't kill you but like the other's say not every day. every thing in moderation even moderation.

If youre on your own drinking it then its bad
If theres a few of you and you end up drinking a bottle each, thats not so bad.

Drinking alone bad - no.
Do a lot of people do it - my sister-in-law has a 1/2 gallon of Pinot Grigio going most of the time.
