The shortest verse in the Bible was John 11:35, "He wept."

Jese openly wept because Lazurus died, and He loved Lazurus and his sisters dearly, but couldn't make it, even though He knew Lazurus would die, and waited 4 days after He receieved the news to go to Bethany, where Lazurus and his two sisters, Marth and Mary lived.

“Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: ‘Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.’ Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; and he said: ‘Where have you laid him?’ They said to him: ‘Lord, come and see.’ Jesus gave way to tears.”—John 11:32-35.

“Jesus gave way to tears.” Those few words speak volumes about Jesus’ humanity, his compassion, his feelings. Even though fully aware of the resurrection hope, “Jesus wept.” (John 11:35, King James Version) The account continues by saying that onlookers commented: “See, what affection he used to have for [Lazarus]!”

when His friend Lazarus died, and when He was weeping over the sins of Jerusalem, and in the garden of Gethsamane- when He was crying out in agony to the point of sweating drops of blood to be released from the crucifixion- however it was God's will so He chose too, even in the pain of being separated from His Father.
