One of our regulars who has been ill was here this morning. We were happy to see her here.

She was called a "fair weather Christian" by an ignorant fundie, probably because she is beloved by so many of us non-Christians here.

Does that surprise any of you?

Surprise me? No. Sadden me? Yes. I don't know the background here, but the question Debra asked -- or rather the exercise she suggested -- was beautiful and loving. There was no call for that kind of response -- especially not from someone claiming to be a disciple of Jesus.

Some people believe that others are "fair weather Christians" simply because their beliefs are different. The ones doing the judging are the ones who are not following the teachings of Christ.

Please don't judge all Christians by the actions of the few, or the one.

I find it funny that in your outrage you insult the "fundie." Then you jump to an illogical conclusion that it is because you like her.

Though you make me curious. Why do you like her? If I had the time I would look through her answers. I wonder would I find a strong Bible believing Christian or a watered down spiritualist? Most strong Christians are disliked no matter how they phrase their answers. Mind you I am not saying one thing about her I am merely musing to you. As Mother Theressa was loved by many on both sides so too could Debra.

Why she was called "fair weathered" I cannot say. If the "fundie" is an American they cannot say one way or the other as very few of us have faced true persecution and thus our weather status is undetermined and worse unchallenged.

I am still surprised at the silly things asked and answered on this page and that is why I still read and reply.

Meanness always surprises me as I don't expect it. When it happens I am usually left with my mouth open at a loss for words ~ momentarily. People like that are in need of some verbal kung fu!

I guess behavior like that stems from an unsettled heart. Peaceful happy people do not lash out at others in my opinion.

A Woman's Heart;God's Dwelling Place is really awesome. We stretched it out because meeting weekly was not an option for most of the ladies. I learned so much that I would have missed just reading (rather than studying) the Bible along with my sisters. Beth Moore is truely an anointed minister. I wished I could get a group together to do another of her studies with.

" Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain"

What one person says is no big deal. I look at the Q and A here as a sloppy way to survey public opinion.
From true believers deep into their self imposed hypnotic trance to the more loose in their way of believing in the big man in the sky... to believers in nothing... you will read it all here...
No material of Pulitzer or Peabody quality of penmanship here ...but.... now and again one will read something that just makes their day.
( at least I see it that way)

That was mean. The question was innocuous and nice and he had to be a complete jerk.

I will note that a few nicer christians posted quite nice things though.

I saw that, and I was saddened. And, it was completely, utterly uncalled for.

That person owes Debra an apology. A public apology.

peace respects regards

No not really.
She has the ability to love of all of us the same, overlooking religion and touching us spiritually.
Maybe to some that is evil...nothing surpirses me on here anymore.

LOL your damned if you do...damned if you don't.

No. And I actually commented to that responder. Some people are just mean and closed minded.
