Recently I have been finding, for lack of a better description, "Spit" marks on the floor. I'm assuming they're from my cat, as I live on my own. He seems to do this maybe twice a week or so. He is fixed. Does anyone know what this is? Other than doing this he seems fine.

Thanks

Cat is 7 years old. Food bowl is usually full for him.

I have cats that do that sometimes, too. It seems to happen when their food bowl has been empty too long, and they haven't eaten recently. I have a lot of cats and sometimes the food bowl gets empty before I notice it, or somebody won't let a cat eat when she wants to, and she'll "hawk up" just spit/flim. I just check the bowl and take her to it. Good luck.....

If you don't see him do this, it could be he's trying to get rid of a hairball and has not been successful. Try giving him some "hairball remedy". This is a liver-flavored paste that comes in a tube. You just rub it into the cat's front paws -- rub it in very well -- and he'll lick it off. This is greasy stuff and helps lubricate things so the hairball will go either up or down. If kitty continues to do this, or starts acting ill, it's time for a vet trip. Sometimes a hairball can get stuck and will need to be removed surgically.

Do you mean your cat is drooling? Could be an indication of teeth/gum problems and is best to be checked by the Vet.

Our cat had the unfortunate habit of dribbling when she became elderly.
