i imagine you've a level there.. As a biology student I do trust in evolution!! Why do a touch human beings imagine that we are better than different species besides.. some species were in the international many many years previously us and are probable extra adapted to stay right here too. We characterize an extremely small fraction of the time the earth has existed.

When they do polls like those people usually think they are talking about species to species evolution. This has not been proven, is nowhere near fact and has serious flaws.
If you were to ask americans how many accept adapation within species (which technically falls under the definition of evolution) 99 percent would say they do, I bet.
In basic high school and even college biology they tend to seperate the 2 concepts. People dont think adaptation when they hear evolution.
I think that most evolutionists understand and know this, though, and are trying to play semantics with the issue to make the other side seem stupid.

I would say then that American's are WAY behind the rest of the world in the sciences.
Watch: "Flock of Dodos: The Evolution-Intelligent Design Circus" to learn more about the debate and don't just swallow everything that the "Creationists" want you to believe.

That is the percentage of Atheists in the country..MANY Christians and believers of other faiths believe in evolution.
The lowest percentage I can find is 40-45%

Evolution, to my mind, has not been proven or unproven, anymore than religion and athiesm has proven or not proven the existence of God. I do understand that I have no right to force my own beliefs on any other person. And if 13 percent of America wants to believe in evolution than that is their right. I was not put on this earth to be their judge and jury. I can only be the best person that I can be. I treat others how I want to be treated and I do not begrudge nor disdain others for their beliefs.

Given that evolution has been proven, I would suspect that the number is a LOT higher than 13%.
Now, if you are talking about the evolution of man from amoebas that is a different and more complex theory.

Today, nearly all biologists acknowledge that evolution is a fact. The term theory is no longer appropriate except when referring to the various models that attempt to explain how life evolves... it is important to understand that the current questions about how life evolves in no way implies any disagreement over the fact of evolution.

It makes me embarrassed. But then, my country has done an excellent job at that in the last seven years.
But I think 13% is a little off...just a little though.
From the link below "three in 10 [Americans] say that while humans evolved, God guided the process. Just 15 percent say humans evolved, and that God was not involved."

Most of us could care less what others find acceptable. That's why America is such a great place...we are free to accept or refuse the services of anyone or any idea/theory!
