I just bought this yesterday for cooking not paying attention to the package. I haven't even opened it. Is it okay to use it when I have not used it for the fridge? It's the same as regular baking soda right? Thanks for answering!

Yes, it can. It's the same stuff, it just has a cloth-type material on each side so air can flow thru it. Just don't peel off the side panels, and it should be find for baking.

Bicarbonate of soda Is just that;;;
baking soda
NOUN:
A white crystalline compound, NaHCO3, with a slightly alkaline taste, used in making effervescent salts and beverages, artificial mineral water, pharmaceuticals, and fire extinguishers. Also called bicarbonate of soda , sodium bicarbonate .
I have never fell for that silly marketing ploy..
There is no chemical change in the product..
SO yes..!! You are mixing it with other food stuff and depending on it to chemicaly change..
test it,,,, take a tablespoon and add a dash of vinigar.

I'm pretty sure it's the same thing. doesn't the fridge package just have some venting on the sides of the box?

I think you are okay I know some times I buy some thing and see that I got the wrong thing. Maybe the only difference would be the vents in the box when put in refrigerator.
