I doing a school report and I cant find anything about their self-defense. Please HELP ME !!!!!

They have a hard outer shell like a shrimp or crayfish that protects them from predators. But in order to grow, they have to shed this skin called molting. When they molt the new shell underneath is soft so it can expand to allow the triops to grow. Until the new shell hardens they are vunerable.
