OMG where do I begin.....
Similarities:
You can only have a church of believers
Belief in free will
Baptism for competent individuals as a profession of faith, not for infants!
Authority is believed to be Jesus Christ, manifest on Holy scripture.
Belief in obedience, wisdom and spiritual growth
I'll be back with differences....
Differences:
Baptists:
Baptism is not a special ordinance through which grace is received.
The local church calls and ordains its clergy, no higher dude is necessary
Only has the Bible as scripture, focuses mainly on new testament
Very adamant about separation of church and state
Belief saves you, nothing else, and it cannot be taken from you
Fire and brimstone hell
Does not believe they are the one true church
Belief in the trinity
No universal creed, hence all the little denominations
Mormons:
Baptism by immersion is for the remission of sin
A hierarchy of priests that appoint followers to positions, but once you get down to bishop, he does choose the callings of individuals in church and release them as needed
Has the book of Mormon, Doctrine and covenants and Pearl of great price as scripture
You must be baptized for the remission of sin, and "faith without works is dead"
No fire and brimstone hell, and very few are condemned to outer darkness
Belief that the father son and holy ghost are three seperate gods
A universal creed, aka Articles of Faith, only one official church, but there are many unofficial denominations

Despite what others have written here, the similarities between Baptists and Mormons are far more numerous than the differences. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) is a beautiful Christian religion. You should be extremely careful when trying to learn about Mormons from others. There are many who hate the Mormons and spread lies, distortions, and conspiracy theories about them. Others think they understand Mormon doctrine because of "what they've heard," but are actually misinformed.
Because Mormons are Christian like Baptists, we believe in most of the things that Baptists believe, including:
1) Christ is divine and salvation comes only through Him.
2) The Bible is the word of God.
3) Men ought to love one another.
Mormons are a unique branch of Christianity, however. We are neither Catholic nor Protestant, so naturally we have some different beliefs. Most of the differences are minor. One significant difference has to do with the authority to act in God's name. Mormons believe that soon after the death of Christ and His apostles, the early Christian Church was greatly influenced by Greek and Roman philosophies and political pressures. Despite the efforts of many good men and women, the true Church of Christ was eventually lost because of these outside pressures and internal, man-made changes. Mormons believe that God reestablished the original Church of Christ in 1820 through a man named Joseph Smith.

Hope this helps! Mormon Christianity has changed my life by helping me better follow Jesus Christ.

Christians: God is unquely eternal and allpowerful, the only God -- and He is a Spirit [ Ps. 145:13, John 4:24, 1Tim.1:17]
Mormons: God is a material creature who was once a man as we are now men. They say men can finally achieve godhood and that there are many gods.
The Bible
Christians : The Bible, given by God's Spirit is complete in itself and needs no additions. In fact, additions to the Bible are forbidden. [Deut. 4:2; Gal. 1:18; Heb. 1:1,2; Rev. 22:1,2.]
Mormons; They have "new scripture" and the writings of Joseph Smith are divinely inspired revelations ------- God's nineteenth century additions to the Bible
Sin
Christians: Man is not godlike, but sinful and separated from God. Man can only have a relationship with God through faith in Christ. Man apart from Christ, is lost. [ Rom. 5:12-19; 6;23;
Eph 2:1;3; John 1:29; Gal 3;13]
Mormons: Man is progressively becoming a god. Mormons teach that Adam's sin in Eden was necessary in order to
provide parentage for the spirit children of God who were ready and waiting for the experience of earth life.
Salvation
Christian: Salvation is a free gift provided by the grace [unmerited love] of God for all who believe and accept His plan. [ Eph. 2:8-9; John 12:26; 14:1-3; 6; 1John 3:1-2 ]
Mormons: Salvation comes by works and all men will spend eternity on some level of a multistoried heaven. The level will
be determined by the scope of each man's good works.

Chad you're way out there 80% of LDS don't live in Utah. Actually that's about 10% now.
Donald We aren't saved by our works. We are saved by grace and exalted by our works and deeds.
Jerome and Pastor Jesus and Satan aren't physical brothers, satan won't have a physical body. We are all sons and daughters of our Heavenly father. We believe in the immorality of soul.
Some LDS doctrines not talked about yet.
We believe we can be married for time and eternity with our spouses and families. We believe in the immorality of soul.
We have existed forever from intelligences, spirits to having a physical body to having a resurrected body.
We believe God is alive and well and revealing new and exciting things for salvation and exaltaion.

That should be a huge list.
Just about everything. The Mormon Jesus isn't even the same Jesus as the Bible Jesus.
For example Mormons teach that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers.
The Bible teaches that Jesus is God's only begotton son, see John 3:16.
I'll include some links below which have lots more details.

church is reserved in both.
why do you study baptists?
Mormons believe that macaroni printed the book of Mormon on gold and then flew away with it.
later J. Smith had a need to make something more concrete, so he pretended a common Egyptian papyrus found in a mummy would tell him a story that he could use to spread more weirdness. that's about it...about 80% still live in Utah, but they send boys out in droves. the effort is highly organized and funded.
greed caused the first three members of the church to go their seperate ways only to return because of greed.
Political Correctness has guided in some changes to the practice of doctrine, but they remain secretive. The average Mormon is hypmotised and knows nothing about pre-columbian American cultures.

They differ QUITE A BIT!
Let's see what could be the ONLY similarities... there's a Jesus and a God and that's about it.
Mormons believe Jesus and Satan are brothers.
Baptists believe Jesus is God as a human. Satan was a created angel.
Baptists believe God existed eternally in the past and future and is not married.
Mormons believe God used to be a man who had a God of his own on another planet. He then married and became God himself with a God-Wife.
There are SEVERAL differences, almost no similarities.
EDIT:
I get thumbs down for simply stating what they believe? It's true. If you don't like it, take it up with them.
