Okay, I'm 15 and my mom is giving me consent when i'm 16 to get a tattoo. My birthday is in January, and I've been thinking of getting it for like, 4-5 months. I've decided on what i want, I just don't know exactly were on my back to get it. I'm getting a memorial tattoo for my grandfahter who died 2 years ago. I called him Poppy, so I getting a poppy flower on my back, i want it to be small, but i dont want it to look like crap in 5 years. Its gonna be really red. I just want some ideas of were to put it, i was thinking on my shoulder blade. Also, does anyone have any ideas on how to make it special, i was thinking of putting a drop of water dripping off the stem, like my tears. thanks in advance. and please, no preaching on my age, i'm really mature and it's what i want to do.

also, i dont want to get it on my neck or my spine, i'm pretty skinny and it would look all distorted by my bones, lol.

I wouldn't get it on your shoulder blade. Its a memorial tattoo for you. Lets say when you go to Prom, or a wedding, or some other formal event, and you want to have your shoulders showing would it bother you having the tattoo there?

I have a friend who got a memorial tattoo for her grandpa as well, and its on her shoulder, and now she is going to a formal event and doesn't want it to show and can't wear the dress she wants. She said its a personal tattoo and she wishes she got it somewhere else.

I have another friend who got a memorial tattoo for her grandma, and she got it on her lower back in the center and its VERY well done. It looks good and its elegant and feminie and classy.

Just food for thought.

Good Luck!!

Think ahead too. Will you want more tattoos in the future? Maybe larger ones? Don't put it somewhere that might get in the way of a future piece :)

Hi, you answered my question about what books to recommend to me by asking me if there was a fourth Twilight book coming out. Yup! It's called Breaking Dawn and it is coming out next fall. No set date yet, but you can check her website (www.stepheniemeyer.com) for updates. Hope you don't mind tha this has nothing to do with tattoos!

hehehe.. im 21 and im gunna be getting my first tattoo too...i think its really cool that you are getting your first tattoo for your grandfather...mine past away when i was four and he was like a second father to me...but anyway...you should get it on your lower back below your pant line..or on your hip... that'd be really cute...or your shoulder blade that would be really good...you can also put it on your neck just above your bone...and it wont be distorted....good luck !!!

If you really want to memorialize your Grandpa, come up with a way to help people, in his name, instead of disfiguring yourself. I haven't met another Grandpa yet who likes to see their kids or grandkids disfiguring themselves with tattoos.
