No. But here is what some folks ae thinking...

2012 is sometimes claimed to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or apocalypse). Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the thirteenth B'ak'tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order.

Accordingly, several eclectic authors claim that a major, world-changing event will take place in 2012:

The 1995 book The Mayan Prophecies linked the Maya calendar with long-period sunspot cycles.
The book 2012: Mayan Year of Destiny claims the Maya may have been instructed in their wisdom by disembodied entities from Orion and the Pleiades. Contact was maintained through shamanic rituals conducted in accordance with the movements of planets and stars. However, some Mayan priests living and working in Guatemala assert that there is no legitimacy to this theory.
The 1997 book The Bible Code claims that, according to certain algorithms of the Bible code, a meteor, asteroid or comet will collide with the Earth.
The book The Nostradamus Code speaks of a series of natural disasters caused by a comet (possibly as above) that will allow the third Antichrist to disperse his troops around the globe under the guise of aid in preparation for a possible nuclear war, although in the strictest sense it is unspecific as to nuclear war or some other natural or man caused destruction.
The book The Orion Prophecy claims that the Earth's magnetic field will reverse.
The 2005 book Beyond 2012: Catastrophe or Ecstasy by Geoff Stray reviews several theories, prophecies and predictions concerning 2012 and finds where authors have used faulty information or have bent the truth to fit their theories.
The 2006 book 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl by Daniel Pinchbeck discusses theories of a possible global awakening to psychic connection by the year 2012, creating a noosphere.
The 2007 book Apocalypse 2012: A Scientific Investigation into Civilization's End by Lawrence Joseph does not make any specific new predictions, but it reviews a number of 2012 predictions made by various sources, and presents arguments for the possible existence of dangerous positive feedback loops involving solar storms, Earth's magnetic field, cosmic rays, hurricanes, global warming, earthquakes, and supervolcanoes that may be on the verge of erupting.
Other prophecies and apocalyptic writings and hypotheses for this year include:

Terence McKenna's mathematical novelty theory suggests a point of singularity in which humankind will go through a great shift in consciousness.
Some proponents of a peak oil catastrophe place major events in 2012. Richard C. Duncan's book The Peak of World Oil Production and the Road To The Olduvai Gorge claims that the Olduvai cliff will begin and permanent blackouts will occur worldwide. Several studies predict a peak in oil production in or around 2012. [13][14][15]
Some alien-enthusiasts (e.g. Riley Martin), along with some new-agers, believe 2012 to correspond approximately with the return of alien "watchers" or "caretakers" who might have helped the first human civilizations with developing their technology and may have been waiting for us to reach a higher level of technological and/or social advancement. Beliefs range from the extra-terrestrials having benevolent purposes — such as to help human society evolve — to malevolent purposes — such as enslavement of mankind and/or manipulation.
There is a Hindu following indicating the appearance of an Avatar (God in human form) with God-like powers who will herald a new age. A website to this effect appears at: End of the World 2012

The theory of the world ending in 2012 isn't true, it's just a silly hoax. The world isn't going to end on December 21, 2012, just the Mayan Calendar ends. One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world. The Mayan Calendar has to end sometime and did you know when the Mayan Calendar ended the Mayans would celebrate? Besides, nobody can't predict when the end of the world is. You shouldn't always believe what you hear from other people. The scientific evidence about 2012 doesn't go together. Those who spread rumors about 2012 should be punished. You know what is sad, people may commit suicide over this thinking its the end of the world. Or maybe some people would get unwise with their money and spend it all like crazy and be in thousands of dollars in debt, just because they thought the world would end. Then they have to pay it off later and deal with the stress of those bills. That's why those who spread rumors about 2012 should be punished. You know what else is false about this 2012 garbage? • Planet X (Nibiru) isn't going to hit the Earth it doesn't exist. • Poles are switching everyday, this isn't going to happen all in just 1 day. This process takes thousands of years. Throughout geological history there has been may pole switches and life has still survived. • Also people are saying these poles will switch in one day due to a black hole. That's NOT true. The nearest black hole to our galaxy is 1600 light years away. • Sun will be lined up with a sunspot, but it doesn't mean it will wipe out all life on Earth. One time ago, Earth was lined up with a sunspot and people were on it and everybody didn't just die. • There is not going to be catasphoic earthquakes. • In the Bible there is nothing that says the world will end in 2012. They say they got their proof from Revelation 13 and you see the number 666 and that number is just a number in God's book that represents human imperfection. So, 3 of those 6's mean humans are extremely imperfect. • Just because certain cultures predict it like the Chinese, Japanese and all of them doesn't mean their predictions are correct. As I said, nobody can predict such a thing. • No comment will hit Earth. Each time the end the world is predicted. They are always wrong. Here are all the predictions of when the world would end and each time they where wrong. Before 2012 it was 2006. Then 2000. And 1990, 1988, 1987, 1986, 1985, 1984, 1982, 1980, 1975, 1974, 1970, 1967, 1960, 1957, 1953, 1948, 1940, 1936, 1919, 1915, 1914, 1891, 1856, 1850, 1844, 1832, 1830, 1794, 1792, 1736, 1689, 1669, 1533, 1524, 1496, 1346, 1284, 1205, 1033, 1005, 1000, 992, 968, 500, 375, 365, 200, 90, 60, 30. SEE!! The end hasn't came and all this shows they are wrong!! Through out history the end has been predicted but has never happened so, whats the point of worrying? Don't live your life in fear. Just live your life be sucessful in your life by getting good grades, staying in school, going to college, getting promoted at your job, and achieving lots of goals. Don't worry about something this silly. It isn't going to happen! Every few years these silly predictions about the world ending happen. It has happened throughout Human history. Anyways, as from what I just said, you can't predict the future. What if tommarow were the end? What if tommarow you died in car accident, or something else went wrong which costs your life?

People have been predicting the end of the world for the past 2000 years if not more and this 2012 nonsense is just the latest one.

There's no way the world is going to end in 2012 simply because the Mayan calendar ends there. What most people don't know is that this is simply the end of an age and a new calendar would start after that point. That is it would start if there were any Mayans left that still followed the ways of their ancestors.

This is based on the Mayan calendar which ends in December of 2012, it does not make an end-of-the-world prophecy. It simply tells us that a tremendous change will begin on that day. This change could be small or cataclysmic, if you dig past all the new age garbage, you'll find that it was fallen angels who taught the Mayans about the stars and how to make that calendar. These fallen angels were driven out by the Mayans because of the cruelty they inflicted on the people, when the angels were run out of town, they told the Mayans that they would return in 2012. That is it in a nutshell. It marks the beginning of the end, we will not see the so-called age of Aquarius or some great enlightenment. What we will see is the rise of the anti-christ and his army.

The Mayan calender ends on Dec.21st. 2012. There is no continuation from there. Some people think that this signifies the end of the world. Actually, this just signifies the end of a great time cycle when we're inline with the galactic plane of the Milky Way.
Many people have made up stories using this date to somehow justify that the world will end, using Nostradamus, Edward Cayce, etc. mixed in. Still, no one really knows anything in the end. We'll just have to wait. Most likely, this date will come and go and life will continue as usual.

There are several peoples beliefs and prophesy that the world will end as we know it in 2012. There is supposed to be a thousand years of peace that will begin in 2012. It may just be that we have been with evil and wars from that evil influence until this time. It is also said that our world will go from a 3rd dimension to a 4th and then a 5th dimension.
There are lots of possibilities but what is the truth, we will have to wait and see. Jesus said if you cannot change one minute of time then how do you expect to change anything else. So as he said, be in the world but not part of it. Sufficient is today's problems, tomorrow will take care of it's self. So be not afraid. All will be as it should and if you have faith in God, you will realize that you will be taken care of. If not then there is nothing you can personally do about what happens and you must trust that there all will be OK because life does not end. You are a eternal spirit having a physical experience.

No I don't. But at night when I'm vulnerable to scary thoughts, the thought of the world ending in 2012 makes me a bit saddened and scared, but only a little bit. I highly doubt it will. This is just my opinion. I'm 13...So Maybe I dont know enough about the mayans to come up with a better answer.

It`s not going to end, it will be a time of great change.
Like the Caterpillar that cocoons it`s self for a time, then emerges as a Butterfly.
As in Metamorphosis.
It is said by some to be the Dawn of a great Spiritual Awakening.

The year was translated to our time zone based on the Mayan calender.
The Mayan calender is the most accurate there is.

I believe that something major will happen. Perhaps not the end of the planet earth, but major changes in how we use our planet, perhaps even major changes in religious beliefs.
I just hope I live to see what happens.
Since the Mayan Calendar ends in December of that year (as far as we can calculate), it seems as though we could see big changes.
It would be nice if people would wake up to see what they are actually doing to harm, not only the planet, but everything on it. We need more responsible humans, not more of them.
Let's hope it's for the good of all, not more killing and oppression.
