I bounced two checks a while back (I'm a single mom with three kids and I thought another check was on it's way and it didn't get here in time for me to pay the checks) so the grocery store turned them over to the DA and the DA has a bad check program. You have to pay a TON of money and go to a class. I was scheduled for the class. They said this is the latest day I can take it (which was the only day I could get baby sitting for my kids) and I went to the wrong address (there are two streets by that name) so I was 15 minutes late and I didn't get in to the class. I signed a sheet saying that I had made an effort to go but that I did not attend due to being late. Could I go to jail over this?

FIND A BANK THAT HAS AN OVERDRAFT ACCOUNT FOR $500 PER MONTH YOU CAN WRITE CHECKS TO PAY NEEDED WATER BILL, ELECTRIC ETC AND THEY KNOW WE ALL DO NOT HAVE MONEY. WILL CHARGE YOU THE $30 FEE A CHECK AND PAY ALL THE CHECKS YOU OVERDRAFT TO $500.00. USUALLY YOU HAVE TO HAVE A DIRECT DEPOSIT WITH THEM SO THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE COMING IN. CHEAPER IN LONG RUN TO PAY BILLS AND $30 THE 100 TO DA.ALSO A JUDGE CAN WAIVE THE FEES AND ASSESS AS NEEDED A FINE IF NECESSARY.OR DISMISS IT ALL TOGETHER.

Probably not. You did show up,but got there late. Just tell them that. You got lost or went to the wrong street.
