It makes red meat stay looking fresh and retain it's red color almost indefinitely. Do you think that is a form of deception? The meat could be rotten and still look fresh.

and furthermore, if it's so harmless, why is our gov't cracking down on it, and why don't most other countries use it? yeah that's right

I wouldnt worry about it.
there is also artificial growth hormones, pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, tranquilisers, innoculations & animal hormones.

They sometimes also spray the meat with liquids similar to bleach/chlorine & hydrocholoric acid to stop it going off too soon

I often wondered why my farmer friends wouldnt eat meat they produced themselves.

the experation date is what you need to be looking at.
they aren't trying to fool people by selling bad meat, just improve the look, and there is nothing wrong with that.
They put carbon dioxide in pop, and people drink that.

NO, it's not indefinite. And CO2 is in the air we exhale. It's not like it's radioactive!

This just reminds me to check the expiration date, not go by how it looks!
