You can't file the pdf electronically. You will have to print it out and mail it in. If you want to do it electronically, you need to use someone's tax reporting software.

Block has not completed their electronic version of the form yet. You can't import a PDF file into the return, it does not work that way. Go back on the 26th and complete your return. It won't be transmitted to the IRS until the 30th, so this really isn't causing you any additional delays. (I'm not going to be able to file until sometime in March, so don't feel bad.) Blame Congress for the delay. They didn't act on necessary legislation addressing many open issues until Jan 2, 2013. Many of those issues affected 2012 tax returns. If they had acted back in October there likely would not be any delays this year.

What you are doing is not online filing. You don't send a pdf of your tax return as an attachment to your email.
For electronic filing, you need to use a tax software or your tax preparer will do this for you. The data you enter for your tax return is automatically transferred to the IRS computer.

I don't think you can file a tax return on-line at this time, I believe IRS only accept current year tax return by April 15th of each year. You will have to mail your tax return.

If you are talking a 1040 series of returns, the online system is only up 1/15-10/15.

If you are talking a 1040X or 1040NR type return, these are paper only forms.

If this is another form, let us know.
