I have taken Phys Ed class, and we've learned about saving somebody who is injured, unconscious, etc. In life, I want to save another's life by performing cpr.

You will be better off going to one of the websites the person above me mentioned. But if I may just add one thing, the most common error I have seen when someone is performing CPR is putting a pillow under the victim's head. It is human nature to put something soft under someones head, but it closes off the airway. Thank you for letting me throw in my two cents. I know you didn't ask for it, but if just one person remembers this information it will be well worth it.

if you REALLY want to do it right you need to practice on a manikin. Taking a class, whether for certification or not, that gives you hands on time is the best option.

The American Heart Association offers a 'CPR for everyone' program that you can buy that includes a cheap manikin and a good DVD.

Some skills are just best learned when you can practice in front of a good coach.
