I am in a very happy commited relationship, my sister kept asking me this question so thought id get others thoughts on it.

Because they have seen the way women treat men when they are dating and how they change once they are married...
Men want to marry the woman they met and fell in love with......

Not all men are my dear. Clearly my husband isn't, he married me after all.
Your question would be a lot less loaded if you asked, "Why are SOME men afraid of commitment?" Quite frankly, even women can be and are afraid of commitment too. We just like to drop the blame too quickly on the men.

Most will commit if they really want to share a lifetime with a woman. But there are a lot of women who are afraid of it too. Reasons are multiple. One is probably a fear of the relationship failing, and they end up hurt.

I dont think it's just men that are afraid. And I don't think it's all men.
Maybe best to say, why is this man afraid of commitment and give a description of the situation..

i imagine the in difficulty-free words reason adult men are petrified of dedication is because they are not with the guy they favor to be committed to. Sorry, no longer attempting to be recommend, yet thats the way i have considered it take position.
