Explain to your dad that you want to go. Explain how the play is organized, what the supervision will be. Tell him that you have the money but you can't get it out of your jewelery box and maybe he can help you get it out. If you try to show him that you can be responsible about going and that you will be home when you are supposed to be home, he may be ok with it.

Since you didn't give your age it's very hard to give you a good answer. Maybe you think he will not give permission because you are too young to go alone. Get several of your responsible friends to go as a group and then ask him. Tell him that you understand his fears, but you will not do anything stupid and be a responsible person and you do have friends going with your. etc etc.

And if he give you permission do just that. Go with your friends, be a well behaved person and return responsibly and next time it won't be so hard to ask.

Good luck>
