an illegal immigrant in the US, is facing deportation?

if you were in this situation? what's right and wrong?

thank you

(i personally think it is absolutely absurd that the government would even think of deportating a soldier's wife, regardless of what the situation is. it is just really outrageous and mind boggling.)

read the story....this guy is even captured and held hostage, possibly dead.

does it even MATTER whether she was illegal all the way 100% or not? I really don't think so.

if she was as illegal as an illegal can be. it makes no difference. exceptions has to be made for certain extreme cases. cases like this one!

unfortunatly.... the mindset of America is like the first Anti that responded to your question....she represents how America feels about YOUR sacrifice....She and America are happy to see you take a bullet so they can get more oil and KEEP driving there SUVS....but they dont care about you.....

ANTIS love to see you die for there country ,,so they can continue to scapegoat and sip frappucinos comfortably from home

after all what THEY are telling you directly....to your face......is Thanks for taking bullets ...but your family DOES NOT matter

let me correct myself: THEY ARE NOT EVEN THANKING YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO AMERICA
theyre just attacking your wife

so let me do it for these UNAMERICAN ANTI-IMMIGRANTS...

thank you soldier for your service and risk of life for America
on behalf of of all including the UNAMERICAN AND UNGRACIOUS ANTI-IMMIGRANTS

by the way i dont mean YOU personaly ,i mean the guy in the story

SWAY_27 : the point of suv was not refering to you specificaly (i said she AND America)
I was not assuming in the point of ungracious american. You still have not thanked the soldier for (independent of his marriage) HE IS STILL RISKING his life for your country!!!!

dont you SEE that...or is the ONLY thing you saw is ILLEGAL....thats it isnt it...yuo dont care about sacrifice for country...your just mouthing off to FEEL american

SWAY-27 YOU ARE NOT AN AMERICAN....you dont understand the sacrifice American soldiers do for there country

AND YOU STILL REFUSE TO THENK AN AMERICAN SOLDIER FOR DEFENDING YOUR COUNTRY!!!

lok at your answer you STILL REFUSE TO thank AMERICAN SOLDIERS

HER THOUGHTS IS HOW ANTI_IMMIGRANTS TRULY FEEL ABOUT AMERICA

hahahahha ok ok we ll keep the marital "bliss" @ home

Micky:
your making the same mistake sway_27 is making in her thinking...

This question is NOT about illegal behavior....it is about NOT THANKING or APPRECIATING the sacrifices of AMERICAN SOLDIERS..>>IRREGARDLESS<< of there wives legal status...

the wife HAPPENS to be illegal..yes....but HOW does that lower the respect OUR AMERICAN soldier deserves....shouldn't Sway_27 at least say THANK YOU before she attacks him and his wife...this is one issue, my american soldier friends have first hand knowledge on, go ahead and ask you soldier friends, how THEY feel about there brother soldier's wife treatment????.....

by the way AGAIN FOR THE SECONFD TIME....by SAYING her AND america...I am considering majority viewpoints....dont feel so special as to think I was refering to you believing that way specificaly

oh and by the way Micky..dont run ....respond to me ill be waiting

What some people are overlooking is the FACT she wasn't illegal before he was deployed. They had paperwork started to get her citizenship while she was here on a visa. His deployment got in the way of them finishing the paperwork. Unless someone has had someone on deployment they don't seem to get the FACT that any stateside paperwork is usually put off. Because for some strange reason just surviving and doing your job takes precedence.

Any moves to deport her whether her husband is alive or not are garbage. The poor woman has enough to deal with concerning her MIA husband. Those who can't see and understand that are jerks and a disgrace to every American soldier past and present. Honor his memory pray for his return and for God sake legalize this hero's wife America.

It is sad how, people that claim to be real Americans, and only do their fighting behind their Computers. That do not volunteer to serve their country. I have never supported the war, But I support our men and women that are in harms way, Mrs Jimenez husband has earn the right for his wife to remain in the country. By his Sacrifice, the other two soldiers capture with him have been found dead and his ID card was found in an Iraqis house after a battle. I have family members serving in Irag. I can not believe the lack of compassion for an American fighting man, that most likely gave his life for his country. I never knew the profoundness of that kind of hatred. Is that the thanks he get for the defense of his country.

"Their attorney, Matthew Kolken, said 23-year-old Hiraldo illegally entered the United States in 2001"

If only she hadn't done that, she would have my sympathy.

Redangel, you certainly make a lot of ASSumptions. I am an anti as you say and not once have I supported this war,if I had my way,not a single soldier would have ever been there. I happen to have friends there fighting that I worry for,one has already been killed and it's real crappy for you to insinuate that I'm happy to see them there or that I support the murder of my friend. Who the hell are you to judge me? I simply want my country respected, protected and our laws obeyed. Isn't that in all reality what a soldier in his mind is fighting for,our country?

she technically isn't illegal...it says in the article that he had petitioned for a green card for her prior to being deployed. the INS can be behind for up to 8 months or more, she could be lost in a pile of paperwork somewhere and the fact that her husband is fighting in Iraq makes the story pretty sad.

In this case it is wrong. They had applied to make her legal. I am against illegals but they were trying to go the right way. It is sad that the government is so back-logged that it takes so long to process the paperwork of someone trying to do it legally.

In black and white, right and wrong the fact is if she is an illegal alien she should face prosecution. A little compassion may be in order until resolution of the incident, but ultimately the law must be followed.

I believe they should let her stay her, at least until they bring the soldier back. He is fighting for our country, while our country is harrassing his wife.
