I read that Muslims believe that Jesus was a good man but not the Son of God as Christians believe. So are Muslims tollerant of Christians?

yes, muslims believe in the jesus who is one of the God's messengers as Mohammed and Moses.
If you read the history of Islam , you will find kings and leaders who let christians to practise their religion and respect them and their ways in worshipping the God.(example Salah El din with the crusaders).
it is the opposite if you read about people who enter countries to destroy civilizations and prevent people from worshipping the God.
I am in Egypt , i have neighbours christians , friends and collagues in school and collage and with mum and dad in work.
it is our religion which ask us to respect others .

How son of God could be bad? As far as I know, I don't think that God has or had a son. God is a single power of the all universe. Under him there are millions of powers. Certain super powers, they themselves, do not know who is God? Where is he? and other details like human beings. Their routine is doing their job what God had assigned to them without their own knowledge. This is a group of administration with chiefs and assistants. Jesus was considered as son of God. All good men are considered as sons of God. Regarding Muslims, they are in a state of learning many things in this world. They have to research what real God is? and what he has in his mind? Most of the Muslims don't have the modern thoughts which paves the way to good and peaceful life. Like politicians, these people wasting their precious time by gathering support to their religion and meaningless points of their ancestors. I have seen many people like this all over the world. They simlpy think what their ancestors said and blindly follow them. They never think - Why? What? Is it true? If it is true, how? Blindly regarding certain things and blaming good modern thinkers will not pave the way to a peaceful life. Unless they themselves realise it, even God cannot save them.

Well Christians are not tollerent of Muslims they are using abusive language against their prophet but still wonder why they write Peace Be Upon Him after Jesus name.

Islam is the only non-Christian faith, which makes it an article of faith to believe in Jesus. No Muslim is a Muslim if he does not believe in Jesus
We believe that Jesus was one of the mightiest Messengers of Allah (swt). We believe that he was born miraculously, without any male intervention. We believe he was the Messiah translated Christ.We believe that he gave life to the dead with God’s permission. We believe that he healed those born blind, and the lepers with God’s permission. We believe that he was the "Word from God". We believe in his second coming as well.
Quran shows positive image of Jesus pbuh, that his coming into the world was miraculous, his deeds upon the world were spectacular, his exit from the world was mysterious, and his second coming will be awesome.
BUT WE DO NOT BELIEVE THAT HE IS GOD ALMIGHTY. We believe that he is the messenger of God almighty.
"Christ the son of Mary was no more than an Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth make His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!" QURAN (5:75)

Everyone is free to believe whatever he wants. We are tolerant with christians. The prove is, millions of christians lived with muslims hundreds of year. In egypt there are 6 millions coptic christians. They are the richest in Egypt.

It really depends on how peaceful the person is. You can take a lot of justification of the violence from the Qur'an. I believe Muhammad was an evil false prophet.

In many muslim countries converting to Christianity is punishable by death so I would say no they are not tolerant.
