I just wonder - if God wants all his children to get to heaven, why would he make only one true church? It seems to me, that he would make religion available to the masses so that we all have a chance. I am way off base?

The church as many think of it today is not what is meant by one true church.

What is meant is a family, a community of love and charity.

In Christianity the thought is supposed to be some are close family members and some not but all are welcome.

Where did you hear that there was only one true church? When this is said, it is normally from a cult! Be careful! God does love us all. He doesn't love any certain person or church more than another. He wants us all to live with Him in heaven, but it is up to us to decide whether or not we will follow Him.

Actually there are TWO!! it is true that those that worship in truth and spirit are the true church.....But there could be more then one Church that Follows after the teaching of Smyrna and Philidelphia.....today there are many churches that only have a residue of truth.

Look to the Church that is teaching as the church of Smyrna and Philidelphia.....for God did not find fault with these two curches out of the seven. They are being talked about in Revelation chap.1-3.....they have the key that unlocks the truth....''Key of DAVID''..they even teach about those false people who claim to be jews (Judah) but they are not.

Does your Church teach who these people are?
There are many that know not the depths of Satan, but when the body of Christ works together we can accomplish what the other part of the body (CHURCH) is lacking......for i speak as we are the church (The people) for God is not a certain Religion.....for he is a Reality!

But yes he loves all his children but there are those that follow after the serpent...so in this they have chosen there path.

Peace to you!

Pete

Every child of God will receive heaven according to their own personal capacity and diligence in seeking His will for themselves. If you seek God's will in your life and do what you know in your heart is right, you have nothing to fear.
God authorizes a church to minister to His children throughout the world. It is open to all. It has the priesthood of God, and is guided by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost, speaks to you in a still, small voice. He gives you a feeling of love and clarity. He will help you understand what is from God and warn you of deceptions from Satan. You are an agent to choose whom you will follow.

Because God doesn't need more than one church. And that church is the body of believers all over the world who have accepted Jesus as their Savior and have become born again. The "Church" isn't a building. Nor is it a religion.

God bless!

Christian are the Church, Yes, the body of Christ is each and every Christian. The buildings nor the denominations are not the Church... We Christians are, We are the Body Of Christ. And Jesus is available to everyone...And only the ones who come to Jesus and be born again are "God's children."

Peace. I see religions especially Judaism, Christianity and Islam as the same school of monotheism. Initially the Lord had only one command to Adam & Eve, when they were given free will. They flunked in kindergarten. Noah succesfully completed kindergarten, Abraham began grade one and Moses completed High School. Jesus brought the monotheists through college and graduation, and Mohammad had us do post graduation.

After that, you can always continue to do post graduate research for ever. If you notice, Moses did not say Abraham or Noah were not from the same "school". In fact he built on what was taught earlier. Jesus said " not one word in the Laws of Moses shall change until it is all fulfilled". Both Moses and Jesus prophecied that someone else will come and continue the "teaching" process. Moses in Deutronomy 18:18 (Prophet like Moses, that is someone born naturally and died naturally, brought laws to a lawless people. Brought them salvation when they were enslaved.. etc.) and Jesus in John 15:26, also, John 16:7, and it emphasises the nature of the one to come in 16:13, "that he shall not speak on his own, but only say what he hears". Clearly this can not be a reference to a hearing/speaking person. Note how the verse also begins with John 16:7 which has many significances. First, it is the final gospel that refers to the "paraclete or comforter" which in Greek translates to Ahmed or the very name of our Prophet. Second the book number is 16 (whcih adds to number 7, which represents eternity.. the seventh day of the week etc.).

If you refer to the Prophet of Islam, he requires all Muslims to love Jesus and gives the good news that all Christians who adhere to the teachings of Christ or Jews who adhere to the teachings of Moses shall indeed not have anything to lose and the Lord shall potentially give them everlasting life.

Check out Quran 2:62 and then again Quran 5:69, which by name gives the good news to all those who believe in God Almighty.

All of the above may be checked at the following website by the University of Michigan or your own bible.

May the Good Lord bring peace to mankind through our connection to the Almighty. For everyone is made, nourished and preserved by Him Almighty. Islam which means Peace that comes through obedience to the Commands of the Almighty teaches that everyone who understands the commands should listen to them and practice them as they understand it.

"And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly." -- Quran 23:62

"Surely those who believe (Muslims), and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve." Quran 2:62

"Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians whoever believes in God and the last day and does good-- they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve." Quran 5:69

Lastly, remember that Allah or God is a confugation of two Arabic words AL or the, and ILAH or god (any god with a small g). Thus Allah literally means THE GOD!!.

I hope this makes sense.

Are you referring to the Catholic Church? That is not Jesus Christ's Church. It is the body of Christ that is His church. Membership in a church with four walls does nothing for you. Repent, confess your sins (to God not a priest), and accept Jesus Christ as God in flesh and your Lord and saviour and you will be saved. Now as far as being able to be any religion and follow a false god like mormons, islam, jehovah's witness, buddhism, etc.....you can't serve two masters, and they do not follow the God in the Bible.

Religion IS available to the masses, but certain people chose in the XVI century to create their own rules. You are , of course, free to follow those rules or not. That is your choice

They will say all choose to go to Hell., which is one of the most twisted argument morally I've ever heard. It's quite obvious religion is, and has always been, based on little more than culture. 95% + of those born in Thailand will follow Buddhism, India Hinduism, Japan 80% + Shintoism, many parts of Africa one of the many tribal religions still in existence.

It would take a heartless, cowardly person to use logic that they bring themselves down to...
